Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I am an American Jew by birth. Having faith in Jesus since 1987 . . . I offer this as my worship performance to an audience of one, my beloved Jesus."Do you wonder how some people claim they have "talked with God" or "heard God speaking" to them? Is it possible for you to hear God?Essential to hearing is learning to listen-and that is what Norma Luciano has learned to do since the day a coworker led her to faith in Christ under the golden arches of a McDonald's in Woodinville, Washington.Fireside Chats with God is both a record of the Holy Spirit speaking to her inner person and of her spirit's conversations, "chats," with God. It's her journal of what God has shown her through prayer, meditation, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers. At times God speaks in a gentle voice; other times He corrects her for attitudes and behaviors that hinder her spiritual growth. Always He refers her to Scriptures that underscore His lessons as He asks for her response, and His words never contradict scriptural truth. In chronological order, Fireside Chats with God documents one woman's spiritual journey, but it does more: It offers powerful evidence of a God who lives, acts, and changes people from within. This book provides an example of how you can experience God's voice for yourself.

Book excerpt: It is written (1 Peter 5:8) that Satan, our adversary, walks around like a lion, seeking those whom he may devour. And John 10:10 says that his intentions are to steal, kill, and destroy. Is it then so terribly incredulous to imagine him both plotting how to ensnare his prey--persons whom have not yet submitted themselves to Jesus Christ--and strategizing how to recapture those who have, knowing that his reign is rapidly coming to an end? Read this not to be merely entertained, but to be alerted to devious devices and sly wiles, some of which you might not have even thought he was the orchestrator. As you read, thank Almighty God for His saving Power, long-suffering, abundant mercies, and amazing grace. And pray that many blind eyes shall be opened as they also read.

As the midnight of the Christian year, the season of Advent is rife with dark, gritty realities. In this book, with her trademark wit and wisdom, Rutledge explores Advent as a time of rich paradoxes, a season celebrating at once Christ’s incarnation and his second coming, and she masterfully unfolds the ethical and future-oriented significance of Advent for the church.
Book Synopsis The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy by : Dennis Prager
Download or read book The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy written by Dennis Prager and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2022-10-11 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is the Bible, the most influential book in world history, still relevant? Why do people dismiss it as being irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible, will demonstrate how it remains profoundly relevant—both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will cause you to reexamine your doubts. The title of this commentary is The Rational Bible because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. In Dennis Prager’s words, “If something I write is not rational, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Prager’s forty years of teaching to people of every faith and no faith at all. On virtually every page, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world in general and to you on a personal level. His goal: to change your mind—and, as a result, to change your life.

Download or read book What Would Satan Do? written by Donald R. Copeland and published by . This book was released on 2003-10-01 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHAT WOULD SATAN DO - Subtitled: Fireside chats with the Devil about religion. This is a non-fictional issue written in a fictional setting. This book employs the ancient Socratic method to reveal the truth and expose the controversies in the battle between good and evil which sets it apart from many other books. Xristian is the character defending the Word of God and he is the chosen one who is awarded a challenging encounter with Satan in the bottomless pit to discover the truth about his devices to destroy humanity once more. Satan's deceptions are very grievous and Xristian is brought to his knees several times. Will he endure? If he fails, he stays! Thirteen distinct chapters deal specifically with Satan and his attack upon the fundamentals of Christianity. Serious attention needs to be given to these extremely prevalent issues. Chapters one and two deals with the Bible and its authority-the greatest obstacle to Satan's global scheme. Chapters three through five encompass Satan's attack upon each member of the Godhead. Chapter six is his molestation upon the Bride of Christ and his implementation of pseudo-religions. The one true gospel of Christ is perverted and proclaimed by Satan and his ministers in Chapter seven. Church fellowship and worship is adulterated and distorted in Chapters eight and nine. Satan's delusions are at its finest when he attacks Biblical eschatology in Chapters ten through thirteen. If Satan is successful, almost every human being will be condemned to the eternal hell. What is Xristian's defense and how could he possibly prevail? What will happen in the end? Each chapter has Biblical references(endnotes) to reinforce the subject. Researching these truths helps one understand Satan and his work in religious division. An Index (Appendix A) is used to categorize the hundreds of verses. Appendix B has discussion questions over thirteen chapters for personal growth.

Download or read book Conversations with God, Book 2 written by Neale Donald Walsch and published by Hampton Roads Publishing Company. This book was released on 2020-09 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to deal with twenty-first century challenges, individually and globally. The Conversations with God books are among the most popular spirituality books published in the past 50 years. They have sold millions of copies in over two dozen languages around the world. For those who seek to explore the nature of God, the universe, and the meaning of existence, here are the questions that everyone wants to ask--and here are the answers that not only make sense, but also speak directly to the heart, with observations that ring true. In the introduction to Conversations with God, Book 1, Neale Donald Walsch was told that Book 2 "would deal with more global challenges now facing the world." This is a book that looks at the big picture. What is here is a proposed paradigm shift to change the political and spiritual constructs that people have manifested on this planet. This is the challenge of the book: "Now is the time to reclaim yourself. Now is the time to see yourself again as Who You Really Are, and thus, render yourself visible again. For when you, and your true relationship with God, become visible, then We are indivisible. And nothing will ever divide Us again."

Book excerpt: Experiencing God at Home takes a fresh path back into the rich roots of Henry Blackaby’s world-renowned Experiencing God writings to connect what happens in our homes to what happens in our churches. Here, his sons Tom and Richard Blackaby first establish the biblical case for the idea of experiencing God at home, illuminating how the clear foundation for God’s work in nations and churches around the world is his work in families. Indeed, healthy families lead to healthy churches, and the Blackabys illustrate that through real-life stories of families that have found ways to experience God in marriage, in choosing life’s direction, in rescuing broken relationships, in forgiveness, in the salvation of loved ones, etc. Lessons from the Bible support these moving accounts, and the book concludes with resources that will guide individuals families as well as entire churches toward practically experiencing God at home.

Book excerpt: IT IS TIME TO LISTEN TO THOSE WHO CARRY THE STORIES THAT SPEAK TO OUR SOULS: There is a deep longing for the universal, for meaning, and for spirit in these times of brilliant discoveries and breathtakingly rapid technological advances. Life has become longer, more complex, and - in many challenging new ways - more demanding. The gifts have been incredible, but the human spirit needs to catch up.In the spring of 2009, Hal & Sidra Stone met with a group of colleagues in a house overlooking the Pacific and, as they sat before the fire, they shared their stories in an intimate series of conversations. They talked about life and death; the challenges and rewards of aging; relationship and psycho-spiritual growth; illness and health; the gift of dreams; and the ever-present golden thread of meaning in the evolution of personal and global consciousness. Dianne Braden, a Jungian analyst, crafted a beautiful book based on these four mornings, masterfully re-creating this very special moment in time.
