Book Synopsis Fire and Ice the Third Age by : Michael James Meyer
Download or read book Fire and Ice the Third Age written by Michael James Meyer and published by LifeRich Publishing. This book was released on 2021-10-27 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to understand how long the cycles are for global warming and man’s role in it? Do you want to understand the mythical story of Atlantis? What about COVID-19? In the groundbreaking book, Fire and Ice, author Michael James Meyer answers these questions and more. After many decades of Bible study, Meyer uncovered a mathematical formula for deciphering most of the Bible and Biblical prophecy. Among other things, this formula gave him a framework that provided approximate dates to many Biblical events. It helps answer a host of questions, such as: What is the message behind the building of the three large pyramids and the Sphinx? What are some of the key numbers for Biblical numerology? What is the “end of the world” prophecy in the Bible, including the resurrection? What will life on earth be like after the Lord comes and resurrects his people? Fire and Ice shows readers why the Bible is just as informative and relevant today as it was when it was first written.

My heart filled with joy and pain for both brothers and sisters. I really would like to see what happened to the kidnappers and if that might be another book in of it's self. Courage is a mighty thing we can have control of." "I just love the series. This one had me on the edge of my seat. I just couldn't read it fast enough. The pain that Damon had to endure at the hands of his father and having to rebuild his kingdom hurt my heart. I loved that this sassy Cass swooped in and saved the day. Book Synopsis Wind, Fire, and Ice by : Robert M. Bunes
Download or read book Wind, Fire, and Ice written by Robert M. Bunes and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-10-01 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Between 1955 and 1987, the United States Coast Guard Cutter Glacier was the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the free world. Consequently, it was often given the most difficult and dangerous Antarctic missions. This is the dramatic first-person account of its most legendary voyage. In 1970, the author was the Chief Medical Officer on the Glacier when it became trapped deep in the Weddell Sea, pressured by 100 miles of wind-blown icepack. Glacier was beset within seventy miles of where Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship, the Endurance, was imprisoned in 1915. His stout wooden ship succumbed to the crushing pressure of the infamous Weddell Sea pack ice and sank, leading to an unbelievable two-year saga of hardship, heroism and survival. The sailors aboard the Glacier feared they would suffer Shackleton’s fate, or one even worse. Freakishly good luck eventually saved the Glacier from destruction in the crushing ice pack, only to experience a three-hour fire that nearly killed one of the crew, followed by eighty foot waves that came close to capsizing the ship. Wind, Fire, and Ice is a story about a physician who starts out with a set of false assumptions—namely that he is going have an easy assignment and see numerous exotic ports, but then slowly comes to realize a much different hard reality.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fascinating look at extraterrestrial volcanoes in our Solar System. The volcano – among the most familiar and perhaps the most terrifying of all geological phenomena. However, Earth isn't the only planet to harbour volcanoes. In fact, the Solar System, and probably the entire Universe, is littered with them. Our own Moon, which is now a dormant piece of rock, had lava flowing across its surface billions of years ago, while Mars can be credited with the largest volcano in the Solar System, Olympus Mons, which stands 25km high. While Mars's volcanoes are long dead, volcanic activity continues in almost every other corner of the Solar System, in the most unexpected of locations. We tend to think of Earth volcanoes as erupting hot, molten lava and emitting huge, billowing clouds of incandescent ash. However, it isn't necessarily the same across the rest of the Solar System. For a start, some volcanoes aren't even particularly hot. Those on Pluto, for example, erupt an icy slush of substances such as water, methane, nitrogen or ammonia, that freeze to form ice mountains as hard as rock. While others, like the volcanoes on one of Jupiter's moons, Io, erupt the hottest lavas in the Solar System onto a surface covered in a frosty coating of sulphur. Whether they are formed of fire or ice, volcanoes are of huge importance for scientists trying to picture the inner workings of a planet or moon. Volcanoes dredge up materials from the otherwise inaccessible depths and helpfully deliver them to the surface. The way in which they erupt, and the products they generate, can even help scientists ponder bigger questions on the possibility of life elsewhere in the Solar System. Fire and Ice is an exploration of the Solar System's volcanoes, from the highest peaks of Mars to the intensely inhospitable surface of Venus and the red-hot summits of Io, to the coldest, seemingly dormant icy carapaces of Enceladus and Europa, an unusual look at how these cosmic features are made, and whether such active planetary systems might host life.

Book excerpt: Fire & Ice presents the educational inquiry process to school practitioners and aspiring leaders. The context for this study is unusual because it addresses inquiry learning at both the master's and doctoral level and within group settings. The picture that emerges illustrates ways for mentors to engage graduate students in learning, writing, and research through collaborative structures, with an emphasis on learning communities as the primary vehicle for growth and success. In the book, graduate students have served as research participants, focus group members, and survey respondents in their dual role as peer mentor. Because graduate education is being challenged to meet the changing needs of the twenty-first century, the influence of the professions on academic degrees has meant that students must develop as scholar practitioners instead of strictly intellectual academics. Metaphorically, the fire (possibility, desire, and content) and ice (restraint, structure, and form) of scholarly inquiry is used as a literary device to capture what it might mean for students to perform inquiry.

Book excerpt: Have you read everything George R.R. Martin has every written? Do you know what in Game of Thrones is based in real history? A young pretender raises an army to take the throne. Learning of his father’s death, the adolescent, dashing and charismatic and descended from the old kings of the North, vows to avenge him. He is supported in this war by his mother, who has spirited away her two younger sons to safety. Against them is the queen, passionate, proud, and strong-willed and with more of the masculine virtues of the time than most men. She too is battling for the inheritance of her young son, not yet fully grown but already a sadist who takes delight in watching executions. Sound familiar? It may read like the plot of Game of Thrones. Yet that was also the story of the bloodiest battle in British history, fought at the culmination of the War of the Roses. George RR Martin’s bestselling novels are rife with allusions, inspirations, and flat-out copies of real-life people, events, and places of medieval and Tudor England and Europe. The Red Wedding? Based on actual events in Scottish history. The poisoning of Joffrey Baratheon? Eerily similar to the death of William the Conqueror’s grandson. The Dothraki? Also known as Huns, Magyars, Turks, and Mongols. Join Ed West, as he explores all of Martin’s influences, from religion to war to powerful women. Discover the real history behind the phenomenon and see for yourself that truth is stranger than fiction.
