Book excerpt: From beloved New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist Anita Diamant comes a timely collection of essays to help inspire period positive activism around the globe. When Period. End of Sentence. won an Oscar in 2019, the film’s co-producer and Executive Director of The Pad Project, Melissa Berton, told the audience: “A period should end a sentence, not a girl’s education.” Continuing in that revolutionary spirit and building on the momentum of the acclaimed documentary, this book outlines the challenges facing those who menstruate worldwide and the solutions championed by a new generation of body positive activists, innovators and public figures. Including interviews from people on the frontlines—parents, teachers, medical professionals, and social-justice warriors—Period. End of Sentence. illuminates the many ways that menstrual injustice can limit opportunities, erode self-esteem, and even threaten lives. This powerful examination of the far-ranging and quickly evolving movement for menstrual justice introduces today’s leaders and shows us how we can be part of the change. Fearless, revolutionary, and fascinating, Period. End of Sentence. is an essential read for anyone interested in empowering women, girls, and others around the world. Book excerpt: PERIOD founder and Harvard College student Nadya Okamoto offers a manifesto on menstruation and why we can no longer silence those who bleed—and how to engage in youth activism. Throughout history, periods have been hidden from the public. They’re taboo. They’re embarrassing. They’re gross. And due to a crumbling or nonexistent national sex ed program, they are misunderstood. Because of these stigmas, a status quo has been established to exclude people who menstruate from the seat at the decision-making table, creating discriminations like the tampon tax, medicines that favor male biology, and more. Period Power aims to explain what menstruation is, shed light on the stigmas and resulting biases, and create a strategy to end the silence and prompt conversation about periods.

It is animated by the central question: ‘“what new lines of inquiry are possible when we center our attention on menstrual health and politics across the life course?” The chapters—diverse in content, form and perspective—establish Critical Menstruation Studies as a potent lens that reveals, complicates and unpacks inequalities across biological, social, cultural and historical dimensions. This handbook is an unmatched resource for researchers, policy makers, practitioners, and activists new to and already familiar with the field as it rapidly develops and expands.

This book was released on 2010-11-09 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Delayed completion affects IT, process plant, oil and gas, civil engineering, shipbuilding and marine work contracts. In fact it affects all industries in all countries and the bigger the project, the more damage delayed completion causes to costs, to reputation and sometimes, even to the survival of the contracting parties themselves. In simple projects, time can be managed intuitively by any reasonably competent person, but complex projects cannot and a more analytical approach is necessary if the project is to succeed. Although much has been written about how to apportion liability for delay after a project has gone wrong there was, until recently, no guidance on how to manage time pro-actively and effectively on complex projects. In 2008, the CIOB embarked upon a 5-year strategy to provide standards, education, training and accreditation in time management. The first stage, this Guide to Good Practice in Managing Time in Complex Projects, sets down the process and standards to be achieved in preparing and managing the time model. As a handbook for practitioners it uses logical step by step procedures and examples from inception and risk appraisal, through design and construction to testing and commissioning, to show how an effective and dynamic time model can be used to manage the risk of delay to completion of construction projects.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a small groundswell of thinking in the evangelical church that we may not have achieved a proper biblical understanding of end-times events. It is important for us to return to a careful study of these things, because the time is near. In The Sign of the End of the Age: What Jesus Taught about the Future in Matthew 24, author Paul Kalbach helps you discoveror rediscoverthe Olivet Discourse, the Lords clear road map that all other prophetic Scriptures must reckon with. To understand the discourse, we must answer one critical question: what is Matthew 24 aboutthe future program for Israel or the end of the age events for all believers, including the church? Kalbach presents extensive arguments that show a different timing and sequence of events than is usually taught by proponents of the pretribulation rapture position. His in-depth study adheres to a most literal interpretation method. The Sign of the End of the Age seeks to bring a deeper understanding of the end-times period, vital in a world that shows every sign that this time is near.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is calling for a remnant that is completely and utterly set apart for His Kingdom. This volume of work is a collection of prophetic understandings and insights as led by the Spirit of God. It is designed to make us ponder, consider, and reflect on our walk with God. For there is without a doubt an urgent cry from heaven for SEPARATION, meaning we cannot continue looking, behaving, and acting like the world. It says if something looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. The test implies that a person can identify an unknown subject by observing that subject's habitual characteristics. The problem these days is discerning whether someone is from the world or serving God. On the one hand, so many tend to behave like the world, so based on their habitual characteristics, you would say they are from the world. But then something funny happens – the “duck” is no longer quacking but making other “strange noises”, known by some as praise, worship and prayer! So is this a duck, a hybrid, or something completely different? In other words, are we true followers of Christ or a hybrid product that serves God and the world?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mark Forster's book "Get Everything Done and Still Have Time to Play" took an entirely new approach to time management. One of his most important points was that once we have taken on a commitment, prioritising does not work because we need to do everything relating to that commitment. In the six years since he wrote the book as he has reached thousands of people through writing, seminars and coaching, he has continued to develop and refine his methods . He has now perfected even more effective methods of getting everything done through the introduction of some radical new ideas, including closed lists, the manyana principle and the "will do" list. He is brilliant at helping people to use new forms of communication effectively so that they do not become a tyrant. The result is a complete system which will enable almost anyone to complete one day's work in one day.
