Download or read book EL TIMO DEL FIN DEL PETRÓLEO - Tenemos petróleo de sobra hasta el final del siglo XXI written by Juan Carlos Mirre Gavalda and published by Bubok. This book was released on 2012-06-25 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis The Identity of Liberation in Latin American Thought by : Mario Sáenz
Download or read book The Identity of Liberation in Latin American Thought written by Mario Sáenz and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through a close examination of philosopher Leopoldo Zea's historicist phenomenology, Mario Saenz offers fresh insights into the role of Mexican intellectuals in the creation of a Latin American "philosophy of liberation". While this philosophy of liberation has been widely recognized as the most intellectual political ideology to emerge from Latin America this century, few scholars have specifically explored the Mexican roots of this intellectual movement. Saenz redresses this imbalance by placing Zea and his contemporary intellectuals firmly within the context of post-revolutionary Mexico, a political and social landscape that fostered criticisms of colonial and neo-colonial structures of dependence. Saenz demonstrates how Zea's philosophy was informed by a sense of Mexico's distinctive social and cultural identity.
Book Synopsis Medicine, Power, and the Authoritarian Regime in Hispanic Literature by : Oscar A. Pérez
Download or read book Medicine, Power, and the Authoritarian Regime in Hispanic Literature written by Oscar A. Pérez and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-12-30 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a substantial examination of how contemporary authors deal with the complex legacies of authoritarian regimes in various Spanish-speaking countries. It does so by focusing on works that explore an under-studied aspect: the reliance of authoritarian power on medical notions for political purposes. From the Porfirian regime in Mexico to Castro’s Cuba, this book describes how such regimes have sought to seize medical knowledge to support propagandistic ideas and marginalize their opponents in ways that transcend specific pathologies, political ideologies, and geographical and temporal boundaries. Medicine, Power, and the Authoritarian Regime in Hispanic Literature brings together the work of literary scholars, cultural critics, and historians of medicine, arguing that contemporary authors have actively challenged authoritarian narratives of medicine and disease. In doing so, they continue to re-examine the place of these regimes in the collective memory of Latin America and Spain.
