Book excerpt: Do you want to feminize a male, or you as a male want, or have been told to, become feminized? Feminization: 1) To give a feminine appearance or character to. 2) To cause (a male) to assume feminine characteristics. This is not for those who wish to permanently change their gender, but rather for those who wish to feminize temporarily, though sometimes repeatedly and regularly, in order to proficiently crossdress as a woman. This feminization guide is for a male by gender who, may, or may not be, a "real" man by some opinions, but nonetheless a male, who has chosen, or has been told to, or is being coerced into, becoming feminine in appearance and character. This guide is to be given to those who have been tasked with becoming a feminized male as part of a process to feminize them, or purchased for use by males who wish to feminize themselves. It doesn't have any magic potions or formulas, special makeup or fancy tools, use any drugs or surgery. It does cover all the aspects of eliminating the 'man markers' that set males aside from women, and make a male less feminine than they could ultimately be. It will demasculinize anything that may have had a masculine overtone with the male. It will also aid the feminized male to feel more sensual and sexy in a feminine role. The guide is short - about 15.000 words and around sixty pages, but covers eliminating the things that keep a male from becoming as fully feminized as much as their male body and characteristics allow. After the male has read this, acted upon this information fully, and practiced, he will be the best feminized male he can be. He will reach crossdressing perfection as a male to female (MTF) cross dresser. He will have the routines of maintenance and upkeep of the feminized male body, which will keep him ready, and most likely anxious, to fairly quickly, crossdress at the request of their wife, mistress, or whim of his own. Whether the reason be from femdom, a wife led relationship, female led relationship, cuckolding, cuckoldry, a hot wife, male chastity, forced crossdressing, forced chastity, female domination, submissive training, sissy training, or purely their own desire to become feminine, a diligent male student who incorporates the information in this guide with passion and drive will become the perfect crossdressing male, as fully feminized as possible. Upon following the elements in this guide, the feminized male will be able to proudly display how feminine he has become to anyone he, or the one who coerced him, choose to. Should this be a singular undertaking, the individual will be able to see and feel the difference in the degree of feminization they have achieved after practicing and perfecting the elements, and thus, bring greater pleasure and satisfaction to the resulting feminization. This will be time consuming and will require dedication and diligence in order for a male to feminize to his best. If you are purchasing this for yourself, or someone else, beware of that in order to allow the necessary time and resources. Look inside now. Buy yourself a copy, or give one to a male you want to feminize. It is a small, but valuable investment in a male's journey toward maximum feminization.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2000: This work aims to provide a comparative and temporal assessment of the position of women in non-traditional employment in Europe, Britain and Northern Ireland. Its second aim is to provide a new perspective on the division of labour in modern Western societies and to critically examine the issues, debates and perspectives which have traditionally dominated portrayals of women and paid employment. The book assesses the potential which women themselves have for transforming existing gender relations, particularly within the structural constraints of the education, training and employment systems. In so doing, it is intended to highlight flaws inherent in much contemporary feminist theorizing, and aims to provide a more satisfactory theoretical framework within which to elaborate and develop its arguments. While related texts have tended to concentrate on stereotypical notions of women and paid employment, this book aims to fill a gap in the literature by scrutinizing the lived experiences of women in non-traditional manual occupations, and relating these to a possible transformation of the existing gender order in Western societies

The author shows how certain naturalized assumptions about masculinity and femininity are unmasked through the cross-dressed performance of works attributed to Lope de Rueda, Morales, Lope de Vega, Monroy y Silva, and Calderon.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masculinity without men. In Female Masculinity Judith Halberstam takes aim at the protected status of male masculinity and shows that female masculinity has offered a distinct alternative to it for well over two hundred years. Providing the first full-length study on this subject, Halberstam catalogs the diversity of gender expressions among masculine women from nineteenth-century pre-lesbian practices to contemporary drag king performances. Through detailed textual readings as well as empirical research, Halberstam uncovers a hidden history of female masculinities while arguing for a more nuanced understanding of gender categories that would incorporate rather than pathologize them. She rereads Anne Lister's diaries and Radclyffe Hall's The Well of Loneliness as foundational assertions of female masculine identity. She considers the enigma of the stone butch and the politics surrounding butch/femme roles within lesbian communities. She also explores issues of transsexuality among "transgender dykes"--lesbians who pass as men--and female-to-male transsexuals who may find the label of "lesbian" a temporary refuge. Halberstam also tackles such topics as women and boxing, butches in Hollywood and independent cinema, and the phenomenon of male impersonators. Female Masculinity signals a new understanding of masculine behaviors and identities, and a new direction in interdisciplinary queer scholarship. Illustrated with nearly forty photographs, including portraits, film stills, and drag king performance shots, this book provides an extensive record of the wide range of female masculinities. And as Halberstam clearly demonstrates, female masculinity is not some bad imitation of virility, but a lively and dramatic staging of hybrid and minority genders.

Book excerpt: This is an exciting new edition of R.W. Connell's ground-breaking text, which has become a classic work on the nature and construction of masculine identity. Connell argues that there is not one masculinity, but many different masculinities, each associated with different positions of power. In a world gender order that continues to privilege men over women, but also raises difficult issues for men and boys, his account is more pertinent than ever before. In a substantial new introduction and conclusion, Connell discusses the development of masculinity studies in the ten years since the book's initial publication. He explores global gender relations, new theories, and practical uses of mascunlinity research. Looking to the future, his new concluding chapter addresses the politics of masculinities, and the implications of masculinity research for understanding current world issues. Against the backdrop of an increasingly divided world, dominated by neo-conservative politics, Connell's account highlights a series of compelling questions about the future of human society. This second edition of Connell's classic book will be essential reading for students taking courses on masculinities and gender studies, and will be of interest to students and scholars across the humanities and social sciences.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Male feminization for fun and growth? Why not? It's a question that critical thinkers ask about many subjects. Everyday there's someone who sees something and instead of saying no they ask, why not? What if the Wright brothers agreed with everyone that man can't fly? What if Henry Ford believed like everyone else that there could be no mass production? What if Galileo gave up on the idea that the world is round and not flat like the Church wanted him to? If something can be beneficial for you or others, but the accepted societal view says it's wrong, does that really make it wrong? Male-to-female crossdressing is one of those things. Sometimes viewed as an unmanly due to societal paradigms and beliefs and called a deviant behavior, it's carried a stigma with it. Does that mean it shouldn't be done? Women are allowed to cross-dress; it has become commonplace for women to wear men's styles of clothing, yet men are forced to stay in men's clothes. Dresses, skirts, stockings and all the feminine accoutrements have fallen to the wayside for most women today, and it's perfectly acceptable for them to wear flannel shirts with jeans, or sweatpants with sneakers or flat shoes. Why not? Why shouldn't a male be offered the same flexibility? Until the time comes when open-mindedness is more prevalent, and paradigms and beliefs are changed, it's still possible to do in secret or with likeminded people and groups, and the benefits are just as great. To balance the individual's masculine and feminine energies and activate the rise on Maslow's hierarchy of needs is not a trivial thing, and that is just one of many benefits it brings. If you, a person close to you, a spouse or partner, or a friend of yours is involved in male-to-female crossdressing, has an interest in it, or is bored and wants to try something new and exciting, then drop the veil of illusions by creating a new feminine illusion and thrive. Read on and see what benefits can follow in this thoughtful short read that just might improve your or someone else's life-or at least help you understand it better. Look inside now.

Book excerpt: Feminine Lost explores the premise that all human beings are constructed of two energies, one masculine and one feminine. With the rise of the feminist movement, many women have migrated to their masculine side, some to the extent of losing access to their feminine side altogether. As a consequence, men have found their way to their feminine side. This process has had huge consequences for relationships between men and women, often leaving them feeling unsatisfied within their relationships or lonely without one. Feminine Lost examines female archetypes – the Andro Woman, the Cougar, the Good Doer, and more - that have come to the fore since the feminist movement, pairing them with their masculine opposite, and looking at how the process of attraction functions under these circumstances. When the feminine principle breaks down, the ramifications are many. Feminine Lost breaks through the misunderstanding of what it means to be feminine; it is not an outward appearance but something far more significant.

Book excerpt: Four alternate selves from radically different realities come together in this “dazzling” and “trailblazing work” (The Washington Post). Widely acknowledged as Joanna Russ’s masterpiece, The Female Man is the suspenseful, surprising, darkly witty, and boldly subversive chronicle of what happens when Jeannine, Janet, Joanna, and Jael—all living in parallel worlds—meet. Librarian Jeannine is waiting for marriage in a past where the Depression never ended, Janet lives on a utopian Earth with an all-female population, Joanna is a feminist in the 1970s, and Jael is a warrior with claws and teeth on an Earth where male and female societies are at war with each other. When the four women begin traveling to one another’s worlds, their preconceptions on gender and identity are forever challenged. With “palpable anger . . . leavened by wit and humor” (The New York Times), Russ both employs and upends genre conventions to deliver a wickedly satiric and exhilarating version of when worlds collide and women get woke. This ebook includes the Nebula Award–winning bonus short story “When It Changed,” set in the world of The Female Man.

Since the 1970s the feminization thesis has become a powerful trope in the rewriting of the social history of Christendom. However, this 'thesis' has triggered some vehement debates, given that men have continued to dominate the churches, and the churches themselves have reacted to the association of religion and femininity, often formulated by their critics, by explicitly focusing their appeal to men. In this book the authors critically reflect upon the use of concepts like feminization and masculinization in relation to Christianity.

Book excerpt: The topic is male-to-female transformation. Some people call it makeover, that works too. The text is written predominantly from the view that you are new to crossdressing and feminisation but want to develop a female persona of some kind be it permanent or just for a temporary indulgence. If you are an old hand then you may also find a few helpful tips or insights that will further enhance your look, style, or dressing technique. An assumption is that you were not socialised as a girl. As a result, we need to revisit and spend time on all the little things females seem to find so natural and take for granted. Getting in touch with your femininity is a mixture. An ensemble if you will of lots of things. When you see an ultra-feminine woman, the way she acts and dresses, the way she walks and talks, and oozes sensuality you know there is something more going on than just putting on a dress. Part I considers what you want to achieve with your girl time. We look at what makes us physically one sex or another and how flexible and open this is to change. Then we move onto how to treat your body right and indulge in all those little things that make a woman feminine. In Part 2 we go on to consider ways to sculpt or contour your body so that it remains in proportion but more idealistically female. We look at boobs, butts, and tucking. In Part 3 we move onto dressing the body. We consider the wonderful world of sexy lingerie and underwear and how the right materials and textures can give you that lovely feminine feel. Then we look at clothes and how the right cut and hang of materials as well as patterning and combinations can flatter your figure. And, finally we consider movement and deportment. In particular, how to walk in those ultimate expressions of female sexuality your heels. ****The material is arranged into nine helpful chapters that not only produce a more female appearance but also develop feminine traits and work on your socialisation into female ways. We also give you a shopping list for the things you need at each stage. Chapter 1 looks at why people dress and the idea of being feminine. Chapter 2 considers the limits of biology and how easy it is to physically change from male to female. Chapter 3 looks at ways to pamper your body and get that healthy smooth skinned look. Chapter 4 considers body types and how you can use foundation wear to get your female proportions just right. Chapter 5 is all about breasts and how to design your perfect female boobs. Chapter 6 does the same for bottom shapes and how to pad and tuck to get that all girl profile. Chapter 7 looks at lingerie and the essentials for your intimate wardrobe. Chapter 8 shows you how to dress right for your body type and get the best look you can with your proportions. We consider cuts of clothes and the type of shoes that every girl should know about. Chapter 9 is all about posture and deportment. We show you how to walk properly in your heels and develop the essential movements that will mark you out as female.

From styles of dress to the stunted capacity for expressing a diversity of emotions, becoming a man involves killing off and repudiating anything that in our society is held as feminine. When a person is unable to show compassion and tenderness, or when exposed for their frailties, feels angry and humiliated, they have problems. Problems that none of us are immune to. Masculinity, Cremin provocatively declares, is a generic disorder of a sick society that afflicts even the best of us. Neither a condition of being human nor even of male, it is a disorder, as she illustrates, of a capitalist society that depends and even thrives upon its very symptoms. From the perspective of a trans woman raised to be a man, the book maps the disorder and speculates on the possible means to overcome it. Instead of signifying weakness, catastrophes can be prevented when the qualities men often fear and women often feel subordinated to are prioritised, affirmed and nourished. Drawing, amongst others, on Marx and Freud, Cremin eloquently demonstrates why there can be no future other than one in which we are all reconciled as a society with the feminine. In such a future, the terms 'masculine' and 'feminine' will neither define us nor determine our relationship to one another.

This provocative book argues that Western churches have become women's clubs, that the emasculation of Christianity is dangerous for the church and society, and that a masculine presence can and must be restored. After documenting the highly feminized state of Western Christianity, Dr. Podles identifies the masculine traits that once characterized the Christian life but are now commonly considered incompatible with it. He contends that though masculinity has been marginalized within Christianity, it cannot be expunged from human society. If detached from Christianity, it reappears as a substitute religion, with unwholesome and even horrific consequences. The church, too, is diminished by its emasculation. Dr. Podles concludes by considering how Christianity's virility might be restored. In the otherwise stale and overworked field of gender studies, The Church Impotent is the only book to confront the lopsidedly feminine cast of modern Christianity with a profound analysis of its historical and sociological roots.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Thoughtful and often moving.” Gaby Hinsliff, The Guardian Female Masculinities and the Gender Wars provides important theoretical background and context to the 'gender wars' or 'TERF wars' – the fracture at the forefront of the LGBTQ international conversation. Using queer and female masculinities as a lens, Finn Mackay investigates the current generational shift that is refusing the previous assumed fixity of sex, gender and sexual identity. Transgender and trans rights movements are currently experiencing political backlash from within certain lesbian and lesbian feminist groups, resulting in a situation in which these two minority communities are frequently pitted against one another or perceived as diametrically opposed. Uniquely, Finn Mackay approaches this debate through the context of female masculinity, butch and transmasculine lesbian masculinities. There has been increasing interest in the study of masculinity, influenced by a popular discourse around so-called 'toxic masculinity', the rise of men's rights activism and theory and critical work on Trump's America and the MeToo movement. An increasingly important topic in political science and sociological academia, this book aims to break new ground in the discussion of the politics of gender and identity.
