Toni is very grateful to him and it's apparent that he is besotted with her, although the feeling isn't reciprocated. Toni, despite not having any maternal feelings becomes a mother to twin boys. During this time, due to her strong nature pulls through to continue her further academic studies and is awarded her doctorate. A life changing event occurs due to Theo's reappearance and Toni life becomes chaotic and tumultuous, but worse if yet to come
