Book Synopsis The Fairy Tale of Nuclear Fusion by : L. J. Reinders
Download or read book The Fairy Tale of Nuclear Fusion written by L. J. Reinders and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-05-20 with total page 628 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully researched book presents facts and arguments showing, beyond a doubt, that nuclear fusion power will not be technically feasible in time to satisfy the world's urgent need for climate-neutral energy. The author describes the 70-year history of nuclear fusion; the vain attempts to construct an energy-generating nuclear fusion power reactor, and shows that even in the most optimistic scenario nuclear fusion, in spite of the claims of its proponents, will not be able to make a sizable contribution to the energy mix in this century, whatever the outcome of ITER. This implies that fusion power will not be a factor in combating climate change, and that the race to save the climate with carbon-free energy will have been won or lost long before the first nuclear fusion power station comes on line. Aimed at the general public as well as those whose decisions directly affect energy policy, this book will be a valuable resource for informing future debates.

Book Synopsis Green Banks – The Fairy Tale of Sustainability by : Hedwig Heerdt
Download or read book Green Banks – The Fairy Tale of Sustainability written by Hedwig Heerdt and published by Anchor Academic Publishing (aap_verlag). This book was released on 2013-09 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As ethical banks have developed from niche players to a serious competition for traditional banks, supposedly ethical banks and even traditional banks use the term ethical bank in order to sell bank services under the cloak of sustainable and ethically correct business conduct. Therefore, the aim of this research is to make truly ethical banks distinguishable from traditional banks by investigating, analyzing and determining principles, ethical banks have to fulfill or refrain from in order to call themselves truly ethical. Based on academic research results, a web-based survey identifies the bank customer’s attitude towards sustainability, ethics, and their banking, and the ethical attitude towards the nine areas of business, banks may be confronted with. The survey results build the basis for a list of positive and negative ethical guiding principles which should serve as a general standard for ethical banks.Nevertheless, the ethical guiding principles need to be continuously reviewed and validated as a consequence of the ever-changing environmental, social and legal environment. In the case of its direct implementation, a control mechanism within or outside the bank must monitor and ensure compliance with these principles.

Download or read book Fairy Tale Billionaires written by Ava Ryan and published by Ava Ryan Books. This book was released on 2022-05-26 with total page 625 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The entire series--three scorching hot fairy tale inspired billionaire romances in one volume! A billionaire player craves the one woman he can't have. An icy British princess... THE BILLIONAIRE'S PRINCESS Friday nights have a routine. Drinks with my brothers. Maybe a casual hookup later. Then the ice princess walks into the bar. And it’s game over for me. I can’t figure her out. She runs hot and cold. She turns me inside-out. I like to keep my one-night stands cut and dried—my ambitions outweigh my emotions every time. Until she disappears without a trace. And I discover her little secret. She’s an actual princess. I need more than one night from her. Much more. A woman like that deserves the whole fairy tale. She deserves a charming prince. Too bad I’m the one planning to earn all her happy endings… THE BILLIONAIRE'S BEAUTY They call him The Beast for good reason. Now this billionaire boss wants his beautiful--and off-limits--assistant... Griffin: They call me The Beast. Some people think I’m a bully. I’m not here to make friends. I ruthlessly clawed my way to the top of the real estate market in NYC. No friends needed. She’s my feisty executive assistant. My right hand… woman. We have an unspoken arrangement: she pretends I’m smarter than she is while I pretend not to notice how sexy she is. That was before she gave me her notice while wearing that dress. I can do a lot. Run my family empire. Ignore the loneliness the top brings. Punch anyone who looks twice at her. But letting her go without a fight? Over my dead body… THE BILLIONAIRE'S CINDERELLA She's just a girl next door and a pastry chef. Why would a sexy billionaire ever want more than one steamy night with her? Ryker: Marriage and relationships aren’t for me. I have no desire to revisit my failures. Now I work hard and play hard--period. Until suddenly there she is. Sexy. Unexpected. Sweet. Unforgettable. One unprecedented night with her only whets my appetite for more. She’s been burned before, which makes her suspicious of me. Doesn’t think she’s good enough, that I’d prefer someone more… society. If only she knew how uninterested I am in other women since I first laid eyes on her. And I hope she never knows the things I think about when I look at her now. Fairy tales endings are meant for children’s books. I know that. But I write my own stories...
