Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: NOUS ABORDONS D'UNE PART L'ETUDE DES CARACTERISTIQUES PHONETIQUES DE LA VOIX ET DE LA PAROLE APRES LARYNGECTOMIE PARTIELLE SUPRACRICOIDIENNE (LPSC) AVEC CRICOHYOIDOEPIGLOTTOPEXIE (CHEF) ET D'AUTRE PART L'ETUDE DES PHENOMENES COMPENSATOIRES DE LA PERTE DU VIBRATEUR LARYNGE. LES LPSC-CHEP REALISENT UN MODELE ANATOMO-PHYSIOLOGIQUE DE CONDUIT VOCAL RACCOURCI, AVEC SUTURE DU CARTILAGE CRICOIDE A L'OS HYOIDE, ET CAPABLE DE PRODUIRE UNE VOIX SANS CORDES VOCALES (CV). LA MODIFICATION DU VIBRATEUR AURA DES REPERCUTIONS SUR LE TIMBRE ET LE SIGNAL DE PAROLE, ET LA MODIFICATION DU CONDUIT VOCAL AURA DES CONSEQUENCES SUR L'INTELLIGIBILITE DES CONSONNES ET LES CARACTERISTIQUES FREQUENTIELLES DES VOYELLES. IL S'AGIT D'UNE ETUDE LONGITUDINALE DE 20 PATIENTS MASCULINS AGES DE 44 A 78 ANS (MOYENNE 61 ANS) AVEC ENREGISTREMENTS EN PREOPERATOIRE ET A INTERVALLE REGULIER AU COURS DES 24 PREMIERS MOIS POSTOPERATOIRES. UNE POPULATION SAINE DE 20 TEMOINS MASCULINS, AGES DE 45 A 81 ANS (MOYENNE 60 ANS), A SERVI DE CONTROLE. LA PREMIERE PARTIE EST UN RAPPEL ANATOMO-PHYSIOLOGIQUE ET BIOMECANIQUE DE LA PHONATION DE NOS LOCUTEURS. CES NOTIONS AIDENT LA COMPREHENSION DES MECANISMES DE COMPENSATION QUI INTERVIENNENT DANS LA PAROLE. LA DEUXIEME PARTIE COMPREND QUATRE ETUDES POUR L'EVALUATION PERCEPTIVE DU TIMBRE, DE L'INTELLIGIBILITE ET DU TRAIT DE VOISEMENT DES CONSONNES. LA FIABILITE DES JURYS D'ECOUTE (NAIF OU EXPERT), DES CORPUS (VOYELLE OU PAROLE) ET L'ECHELLE GRBAS, SONT TESTES. LA TROISIEME PARTIE COMPREND TROIS ETUDES D'ANALYSE ACOUSTIQUE POUR DETERMINER I/ L'EVOLUTION POSTOPERATOIRE DES PARAMETRES DE FREQUENCE (FONCTIONNEMENT GLOTTIQUE) ET DE DUREE (COMPORTEMENT PNEUMOPHONATOIRE), II/ DES CORRELATIONS ENTRE PARAMETRES PERCEPTIFS ET ACOUSTIQUES, III/ L'EVOLUTION DES FORMANTS DES VOYELLES, REFLETANT LA FONCTION DE TRANSFERT DU CONDUIT VOCAL. ENFIN, LES RESULTATS PRELIMINAIRES D'UNE ETUDE EN RADIOCINEMA ILLUSTRENT LES CONTRAINTES DE PHONATION ET D'ARTICULATION DUES AU MODIFICATIONS DU VIBRATEUR ET DU CONDUIT VOCAL APRES LPSC-CHEP.

This book was released on 2014 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: This second edition provides a comprehensive view of consolidated and innovative concepts, in terms of both diagnosis and treatment. Written by leading international physicians and investigators, this book emphasizes the necessity of combining local and systemic treatments to achieve the objective of yielding higher cure rates and lower toxicities. Heavily updated from the previous edition, it highlights new surgery and radiotherapy techniques, disease awareness, patient quality of life, and comprehensive management. Head-and-neck cancers are a complex clinical entity and their response to treatment is also known to vary markedly in function of host-related factors. Notwithstanding the impressive progresses observed in the field of imaging, head and neck cancers are often diagnosed at a late stage and the presence of locally advanced disease in a significant number of patients implies the use of aggressive treatments in order to both ensure local disease control and reduce distant metastasis risks. In comparison with the first edition, Head and Neck Cancer, Second Edition provides a detailed update of innovative concepts in chemo- and bio-radiation, viral infection impact on tumor growth and response to treatment, and impact of tumor- and host-related factors on treatment outcome.
