Entre los riesgos laborales a que están expuestos los trabajadores/as, el ruido es probablemente uno de los más extendidos y menos considerados. En el contexto legal, hay que destacar la reciente normativa sobre ruido, Real Decreto 286/2006, que complementa la Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales de 1995 introduciendo nuevos criterios técnicos para este ámbito de actuación. La empresa Aserradero Hnos. López, S.A. se encarga principalmente de la parte relacionada con el área productiva de la planta de procesado de madera. La empresa dispone de un centro de trabajo. Se encuentra situado en León, Polígono de Río Del Pozo, Calle Babia, parcela 084. Esta empresa cuenta con 28 trabajadores aproximadamente, divididos en: ayudante jefe de sección, jefe de turno, carretillero, operario secadero de tabla, clasificador de tabla, encastillado de tabla.

Book excerpt: El desarrollo industrial ha estado siempre unido a la generación de condiciones negativas para la salud de los trabajadores, destacando, por ejemplo, el ambiente térmico, el cual considera para su evaluación factores tanto climáticos, individuales, además del tipo de vestuario. Sumado a los problemas de sobrecarga térmica en la industria, se adiciona el ruido, agente al que gran parte de los trabajadores se exponen, pudiendo desarrollar Hipoacusia Sensorioneural. El objetivo general de este estudio fue evaluar la exposición ocupacional a ruido, la efectividad de la protección auditiva, confort y aislamiento térmico del vestuario de trabajo en dos aserraderos de la comuna de Tucapel. La muestra se constituyó por 33 trabajadores, a los que se les realizaron evaluaciones de ruido y determinación de la atenuación del protector auditivo. Por otro lado, se determinó la tasa metabólica y las características térmicas del vestuario (IREQ), aplicando además un cuestionario para evaluar la percepción térmica. De acuerdo a los resultados, se evidenció que en ambos aserraderos existe exposición ocupacional a ruido. En cuanto a la evaluación del protector auditivo, se estableció que los operadores de los cargadores frontales poseen una calificación atenuación sonora excesiva. Por otra parte, el IREQ evaluado indicó que el vestuario no permite que el trabajador alcance un nivel de confort térmico en su uso, resultados que se condicen con los de la encuesta de percepción, donde el 67% de los trabajadores manifiesta que su vestuario no cumple con lo requerido en términos de confort térmico.
