Book Synopsis Solid State Polymerization by : Constantine D. Papaspyrides
Download or read book Solid State Polymerization written by Constantine D. Papaspyrides and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-04-27 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most current guide to solid state polymerization Solid State Polymerization (SSP)is an indispensable tool in the design, manufacture, and study of polymers, plastics, and fibers. SSP presents significant advantages over other polymerization techniques due to low operating temperatures, inexpensive equipment, and simple and environmentally sound procedures. Combining fundamentals of polymer science, chemistry, physical chemistry, and engineering, SSP also offers many research applications for a wide range of students and investigators. Gathering and filtering the latest literature on SSP, Solid Solid State Polymerization offers a unique, one-stop resource on this important process. With chapters contributed by leaders in the field, this text summarizes SSP, and provides essential coverage that includes: An introduction to SSP, with chemical and physical steps, apparatus, advantages, and parameters SSP physical chemistry and mechanisms Kinetic aspects of polyesters and polyamides SSP Catalysis in SSP processes Application of SSP under high pressure conditions in the laboratory Engineering aspects regarding process modeling and industrial application Recent developments and future possibilities Solid State Polymerization provides the most up-to-date coverage of this constantly developing field to academic and industry professionals, as well as graduate and postgraduate-level students in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, polymer chemistry, polymer processing and polymer engineering.

Book Synopsis Infrared Spectroscopy of Molecular Clusters by : Martina H. Havenith
Download or read book Infrared Spectroscopy of Molecular Clusters written by Martina H. Havenith and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-01 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended to give an introduction to intermolecular forces from an experimental point of view. Within the last 10 years the interest has turned more and more into an understanding of the weak, but important, int- molecular forces. New experimental techniques have been developed which have helped to gain more insight into this interesting topic. This book is intended as an introduction for graduate students who are familiar with the main concepts of n~olecular spectroscopy. Special emphasis will be laid on the theoretical concepts. After a detailed description of experimental techniques, the results for two prototype systems which have been the subject of several studies in the literature within recent years will be presented. Ar-CO is becoming the most extensively studied van der Waals complex, theoretically and experimentally. Nevertheless, this example shows that even though the theory has greatly improved and has helped us to improve our knowledge of intermolecular forces, even for relatively simple cases the theory car1 still fall short of an accurate description. For a long time (NH3)2 was considered as a prototype for hydrogen bo- ing. However, subsequent experimental and theoretical studies have revealed the mysteries of the obtained spectra and proved that our previous concept of hydrogen bonds was just too naive.
Download or read book N2O (NNO) written by G. Guelachvili and published by Springer. This book was released on 1998-02-16 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume II/20 provides critically evaluated data on free molecules, obtained from infrared spectroscopy and related experimental and theoretical investigations. The volume is divided into four subvolumes, A: Diatomic Molecules, B: Linear Triatomic Molecules, C: Nonlinear Triatomic Molecules, D: Polyatomic Molecules. The present subvolume II/20 B3 deals with the linear triatomic nitrous oxide molecule, N2O (NNO). Both the normal isotopic species 14N14N16O and eleven of its isotopic varieties have been considered in this subvolume. The tables are preceded by an additional index to help the search for specific information. Subvolume B3 contains a CD-ROM. Further subvolumes are in preparation.
Book Synopsis Molecular Constants Mostly from Infrared Spectroscopy by : Guy Guelachvili
Download or read book Molecular Constants Mostly from Infrared Spectroscopy written by Guy Guelachvili and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the advent of modern instruments and theories over the last decades, a considerable amount of spectroscopic information has been collected. The infrared, in particular, has seen extraordinary activity. Using Fourier transform interferometers and infrared lasers, accurate data have been measured, often with extreme sensitivity. These data have been analyzed, and accurate molecular parameters have been determined. Volume II/20, "Molecular Constants mostly from Infrared Spectroscopy," is a Landolt-Bornstein publication series bringing together these results. It is made up of several subvolumes (A, B, C, D) with comprehensive compilation of critically evaluated molecular constants of diatomic (A), linear triatomic (B), other triatomic (C) and other polyatomic (D) molecules.
