This book was released on 2006-03-30 with total page 423 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the physical mechanisms involved in the propagation of electromagnetic waves in the radiofrequency range, inside and outside buildings, in the terrestrial and near space environments, with a special focus on mobile radio communication. It combines a theoretical and an experimental approaches with an understanding of the physical environment through adequate formulations of the laws of electromagnetism. It should thus provide the background needed by advanced students and development engineers for the conception of high quality and reliable telecommunication systems.

Book Synopsis The Propagation of Radio Waves by : K. G. Budden
Download or read book The Propagation of Radio Waves written by K. G. Budden and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1988-08-04 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with the ionosphere and the magnetosphere, and the theory of their effect on radio waves. It includes accounts of some mathematical topics now widely used in this study, particularly W. K. B. approximations, Airy integral functions and integration by steepest descents. The subject is divided into ray theory and full wave theory. Ray theory is useful for high frequencies when the ionosphere is treated as a horizonally stratified medium. The discussion of the magnetosphere, whose structure is more complicated, includes an account of whistlers and ion cyclotron whistlers. The book has been planned both for final year undergraduates and as a reference book for research. It is suitable as a course book on radio propagation for students of physics or electrical engineering or mathematics. Some of the topics are presented from an elementary viewpoint so as to help undergraduates new to the subject. The later parts are more advanced. Because the subject is so large and has seen many important recent advances, some topics have had to be treated briefly, but there is a full bibliography with about 600 references.

Download or read book Bibliography on Ionospheric Propagation of Radio Waves written by Wilhelm Nupen and published by . This book was released on 1960 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This bibliography comprises a non-exhaustive compilation of over 1400 references to the world's literature in the ionosphere with special emphasis on its effect on reflection, refraction or propagation of electromagnetic waves. The frequencies involved are usually in the low frequency or long wave bands in contrast to those (UHF, VHF and SHF) involved in tropospheric propagation investigations although the pulsed technique at vertical or slant incidence makes use of a wide range of frequencies.

Book excerpt: LE CANAL DE PROPAGATION RADIOELECTRIQUE EST UN PERTURBATEUR POTENTIEL POUR LES SYSTEMES DE COMMUNICATION RADIOELECTRIQUE. DANS LA BANDE UHF OU CETTE ETUDE A ETE MENEE, LA PRESENCE DE TRAJETS MULTIPLES ET LE DEPLACEMENT DES MOBILES SONT LES CAUSES DES MANIFESTATIONS DE VARIABILITE ET DE SELECTIVITE FREQUENTIELLE DU CANAL DE PROPAGATION. ALORS QUE LA NOUVELLE GENERATION DE RADIOTELEPHONE NUMERIQUE (G.S.M.) VIENT D'ENTRER EN EXPLOITATION, UNE FUTURE GENERATION DE SYSTEMES RADIOMOBILES EST DEJA ETUDIEE. L'UNE DES ORIGINALITES DE CETTE TROISIEME GENERATION DE MOBILE EST D'INCLURE LA COUVERTURE DE L'INTERIEUR DES BATIMENTS. LE PEU DE CONNAISSANCES SUR CE NOUVEAU CONTEXTE DE PROPAGATION ONT MOTIVE AU CNET ET DANS LE CADRE DU PROJET EUROPEEN RACE2-ATDMA LES ETUDES QUE NOUS PRESENTONS. ETANT ETABLI QUE DANS CETTE GAMME DE FREQUENCE LE CANAL DE PROPAGATION POUVAIT SE MODELISER SOUS FORME D'UN FILTRE LINEAIRE VARIANT DANS LE TEMPS, SA CARACTERISATION IMPLIQUAIT LA MESURE DE REPONSES IMPULSIONNELLES COMPLEXES. LA TECHNIQUE D'IDENTIFICATION PAR CORRELATION A ETE RETENUE ET UN SONDEUR DE CANAL LARGE BANDE ENTIEREMENT NUMERIQUE A ETE DEVELOPPE AU CNET. NOUS AVONS EGALEMENT MIS AU POINT UNE NOUVELLE TECHNIQUE D'IDENTIFICATION BASEE SUR LA REGULARISATION POUR AMELIORER LA QUALITE DES MESURES, PUIS DEVELOPPE LES OUTILS DE TRAITEMENT DES MESURES APRES AVOIR IDENTIFIE CERTAINS PARAMETRES UTILES A LA CARACTERISATION DU CANAL DE PROPAGATION. NOUS AVONS NOTAMMENT MIS AU POINT DE NOUVEAUX ESTIMATEURS DES LOIS DE DISTRIBUTION DES EVANOUISSEMENTS RAPIDES ET DEVELOPPE UNE METHODE D'ANALYSE DES DIRECTIONS D'ARRIVEES DES TRAJETS RADIOELECTRIQUES. DES CAMPAGNES DE MESURES ONT ENSUITE ETE EFFECTUEES DONT LES RESULTATS SONT PRESENTES SOUS FORME D'ANALYSES STATISTIQUES ET D'ETUDES DE CAS. CES MESURES FONT MAINTENANT PARTIE DE LA BASE DE DONNEE RACE2-ATDMA ET SIX CANAUX DE REFERENCES Y ONT ETE SELECTIONNES POUR L'ETUDE DU FUTUR SYSTEME UMTS ETUDIE DANS CE PROJET

Book Synopsis Building Wireless Community Networks by : Rob Flickenger
Download or read book Building Wireless Community Networks written by Rob Flickenger and published by "O'Reilly Media, Inc.". This book was released on 2003 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building Wireless Community Networks is about getting people online using wireless network technology. The 802.11b standard (also known as WiFi) makes it possible to network towns, schools, neighborhoods, small business, and almost any kind of organization. All that's required is a willingness to cooperate and share resources. The first edition of this book helped thousands of people engage in community networking activities. At the time, it was impossible to predict how quickly and thoroughly WiFi would penetrate the marketplace. Today, with WiFi-enabled computers almost as common as Ethernet, it makes even more sense to take the next step and network your community using nothing but freely available radio spectrum. This book has showed many people how to make their network available, even from the park bench, how to extend high-speed Internet access into the many areas not served by DSL and cable providers, and how to build working communities and a shared though intangible network. All that's required to create an access point for high-speed Internet connection is a gateway or base station. Once that is set up, any computer with a wireless card can log onto the network and share its resources. Rob Flickenger built such a network in northern California, and continues to participate in network-building efforts. His nuts-and-bolts guide covers: Selecting the appropriate equipment Finding antenna sites, and building and installing antennas Protecting your network from inappropriate access New network monitoring tools and techniques (new) Regulations affecting wireless deployment (new) IP network administration, including DNS and IP Tunneling (new) His expertise, as well as his sense of humor and enthusiasm for the topic, makes Building Wireless Community Networks a very useful and readable book for anyone interested in wireless connectivity.
