Generado como si se tratara del proceso de desarrollo de un proyecto, trata de indagar en la Modernidad, en sus mentalidades, proyectos, realidades y utopías que son imprescindibles para plantear un cambio de estrategia en el proyecto de vivienda colectiva hoy. Por tanto, esta investigación–proyecto, no es una investigación histórica, sino una que desempolva precedentes que son casi recientes. Todo ello para colocar el punto de partida del proyecto desde el conocimiento de lo ya avanzado y lo ya propuesto. Quien realice una lectura sin perder la perspectiva del momento presente, comprenderá las circunstancias que originaron aquellas arquitecturas domésticas colectivas y tendrá las herramientas para reflexionar sobre cuáles serían las alternativas que podrían aportarse hoy de acuerdo con las demandas de la sociedad actual. El lector aprenderá indudablemente del potencial, logros, carencias y fracasos de la arquitectura moderna reciente, pudiendo así fijar el punto de partida hoy, para el desarrollo e investigación acerca del proyecto de la vivienda colectiva contemporánea.
