Book excerpt: Sudden disappearances worry inhabitants of Trioria, a little town in the Ligurian inland. Caterina Ruggeri, police chief, will have to shed light on the mysterious crimes by going back up to four centuries before: the murder of a witch seems to be hiding the causes of an esoteric vendetta. After being for several years responsible for the Dogs' Unit of the State Police, Caterina Ruggeri, Law graduate, is appointed Police Chief and assigned to the Police District in Imperia. The newly appointed Police Chief, having just arrived at her new working place, will find herself involved in a thorny investigation, during which she'll have to face people linked to an esoteric sect, in a town, that is witches' place par excellence: Triora. Starting from the finding of a burnt woman's body, at the end of the operations of extinguishing a wood fire, Doctor Ruggeri, helped by her vice, Inspector Giampieri, an ex soldier expert in informations technology and sport cars' driver, will have to extend her investigation to occurrences that had happened in those places in far away times. Important protagonist of the adventure is Doctor Ruggeri's dog, Furia, her loyal Springer Spaniel, matchless trail searcher, that in more than in one occasion will be of precious help.

Book excerpt: Synopsis: Mutilated animals. Defaced tombstones. Sexual abuse in daycare centers. Is America threatened by a satanic conspiracy? In this book, Robert D. Hicks exposes law enforcement's obsessive preoccupation with Satanism as a model for criminal behavior. While satanic belief has played a part in crimes ranging from petty vandalism to serial murders, Hicks avows that there is no substantial evidence for the existence of a nationwide satanic crime continuum. Hicks points out that the satanic criminal model is expedient largely due to its simplicity and economy, reducing to simple formulas such complex problems as drug abuse, teen suicide, and sexual molestation. His research utilizes a unique blend of law-enforcement methodology, anthropology, folklore, history, sociology, psychology and psychiatry. He attributes the cult conspiracy theory to beliefs fueled by Christian fundamentalist sects and to the ungovernable mechanisms of rumor-panics, subversive mythology, and urban legend. In Pursuit of Satan documents examples of rumor-panics in which the police have fomented fear by attributing crimes to Satanists, indulging in sheer speculation and promulgating misinformation through the sensationalist news media. Hicks examines the construction of the satanic ideology among law enforcement officials, focusing on the exploitation of Satanism as a new scapegoat for public fears and addressing the phenomenon of credulity among police forces and allied professionals in social work, psychiatry, and psychology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyses the legal and aesthetic discourses that combine to shape the image of the criminal, and that image's contemporary endurance. The author traces the roots of contemporary ideas about criminality back to legal, philosophical and aesthetic concepts originating in the nineteenth century. Building on the ideas of Foucault and Walter Benjamin, Hutchings argues that the criminal, as constructed in places such as popular crime stories or the law of insanity, became an obsession which haunted nineteenth century thought.

Book excerpt: This book is about the psychological and mental effects of Black people being under the domination, regulation and covert influence of the white Europeans for more than four hundred years! This book is especially about God! The most fascinating aspect of this study is how the psychology of racism, for this writer, was discovered through the spiritual understanding of Gods Word! This book was not written to try to convince white people of anything. It makes no sense to try to convince a thief that something belongs to you, when he (the thief) is the one that stole it! Truth need not be apologetic to anyone.

Book excerpt: This theory recognizes the evolution of the soul as a process that is quite continuous in itself, though carried out partly through the instrumentality of a great series of dissociated forms. Putting aside for the moment of profound metaphysics of the theory which trace the principle of life from the original first cause of the cosmos, we find the soul as an entity emerging from the animal kingdom, and passing into the earliest human forms, without being at that time ripe for the higher intellectual life with which the present state of humanity renders us familiar. But through successive incarnations in forms whose physical improvement, under the Darwinian law, is constantly fitting them to be its habitation at each return to objective life, it gradually gathers that enormous range of experience which is summed up in its higher development. In the intervals between its physical incarnations it prolongs and works out, and finally exhausts or transmutes into so much abstract development, the personal experiences of each life. This is the clue to the true explanation of that apparent difficulty which besets the cruder form of the theory of reincarnation which independent speculation has sometimes thrown out. Each man is unconscious of having led previous lives, therefore he contends that subsequent lives can afford him no compensation for this one. He overlooks the enormous importance of the intervening spiritual condition, in which he by no means forgets the personal adventures and emotions he has just passed through, and in the course of which he distills these into so much cosmic progress. In the following pages the elucidation of this profoundly interesting mystery is attempted, and it will be seen that the view of events now afforded us is not only a solution of the problems of life and death, but of many very perplexing experiences on the borderland between those conditions - or rather between physical and spiritual life - which have engaged attention and speculation so widely of recent years in most civilized countries.

Book excerpt: Nothing in this world works the way you think it does; there is always more to the story. Be aware that there is a war for your mind and your soul. Corporations have taken over governments in a new form of Fascism that now incorporates high technology and artificial intelligence. The survival of the human race may depend on breaking the Embargo of truth, and collectively developing an ÜberMind. But truth always resonates! Beyond Esoteric takes off the kids gloves, and exposes the control grid extending its tentacles across the planet. The word occult means nothing more than to study the realm of the hidden. So much of real knowledge and wisdom is disguised because the people who run the planet feel that true information of how the world works and how to manifest reality is something you do not need to know. Everything we think we know about the world and the universe in which we live, whatever we have been led to believe concerning the course of human history, could very well be completely wrong, distorted and misinformed. The 19th century teachers of the occult could never have imagined The Ultimate Journey of the 21st century we now face, one that extends far Beyond Esoteric.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Esoteric Astrology – Vol. 5 Rising Signs - Libra through Pisces The Theory, Interpretation and Practice. This publication takes a new and revitalised look at astrology. It is simple to understand, yet remains a powerful tool, capable of providing a solid foundation for the comprehension of this broad and magnificent subject. This textbook, like most of Dr. Baker’s printed books, eBooks and DVDs, enhances your studies via many charts, lists, tables and images (over 100 in this one). This major work is a very comprehensive introduction for those who want to study this subject in earnest, and for the more advanced student it will serve as an essential reference manual. In today's computer-based world it is no longer necessary to spend hours calculating a horoscope when the most modest PCs can do it in seconds, and with 100% accuracy! Consequently the needless paraphernalia, usually associated with learning astrology, has been stripped away. Emphasis is placed on the application of astrology to the unique problems of the modern world, its use as a method of revealing purpose and meaning in life, and ultimately as a key to the psychosynthesis of personality. The horoscope is described in comprehensive detail, with special attention given to the esoteric ruling planets of the zodiac signs, which are more relevant than orthodox rulers in the charts of spiritually-minded people. The new rulers also accommodate the immense changes in external conditions and inner consciousness that have occurred in the last hundred years and are related to a new range of experience which the brain registers as the externa of the modern world. The significance of karma is represented for it gives dramatic effect to our daily actions, and the third factor of esoteric psychology, lying beyond our understanding of heredity and environment, is given full prominence. This integrative and enriching work can be read alone, as a fascinating introduction and foundation to the New Astrology, or can be followed up with the author's extensive range of astrological books and video tapes, audio lectures and the all-embracing Dictionary of Astrology for the 21st Century. Together they provide a complete system for the professional and novice alike, containing efficient and extraordinary techniques of interpretation which have never been used before and which halve the time required to assimilate and practise astrology.
