Book Synopsis Mathematical Analysis tools for engineering by : Franco Tomarelli
Download or read book Mathematical Analysis tools for engineering written by Franco Tomarelli and published by Società Editrice Esculapio. This book was released on 2019-09-18 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an introduction to the study of ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations, ranging from elementary techniques to advanced tools. The presentation focusses on initial value problems, boundary value problems, equations with delayed argument and analysis of periodic solutions: main goal is the analysis of diffusion equation, wave equation Laplace equation and signals. The study of relevant examples of differential models highlights the notion of well-posed problem. An expanded tutorial chapter collects the topics from basic undergraduate calculus that are used in subsequent chapters. A wide exposition concerning classical methods for solving problems related to differential equations is available: mainly separation of variables and Fourier series, with basic worked exercises. A whole chapter deals with the analytic functions of complex variable. An introduction to function spaces, distributions and basic notions of functional analysis is present. Several chapters are devoted to Fourier and Laplace transforms methods to solve boundary value problems and initial value problems for differential equations. Tools for the analysis appear gradually: first in function spaces, then in the more general framework of distributions, where a powerful arsenal of techniques allows dealing with impulsive signals and singularities in both data and solutions of differential problems.
Download or read book TACCLE written by Graham Attwell and published by GO! Internationalisering. This book was released on 2009 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is written for classroom teachers who want to know more about e-learning and who would like to experiment with designing e-learning material to use in their own classrooms. It is primarily targeted at secondary teachers but there is no reason why primary school teachers and adult education teachers should not find it useful too. The other group we had in mind were those of you still undertaking initial teacher training. Although there are some exemplary courses, a depressing number of trainee teachers continue to arrive in the classroom having barely heard the words ‘e-learning’, still less have hands on experience of it.
Book Synopsis Physics Experiments with Arduino and Smartphones by : Giovanni Organtini
Download or read book Physics Experiments with Arduino and Smartphones written by Giovanni Organtini and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-10-06 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on the use of Arduino and Smartphones in physics experiments, with a focus on mechanics, introduces various techniques by way of examples. The main aim is to teach students how to take meaningful measurements and how to interpret them. Each topic is introduced by an experiment. Those at the beginning of the book are rather simple to build and analyze. As the lessons proceed, the experiments become more refined and new techniques are introduced. Rather than providing recipes to be adopted while taking measurements, the need for new concepts is raised by observing the results of an experiment. A formal justification is given only after a concept has been introduced experimentally. The discussion extends beyond the taking of measurements to their meaning in terms of physics, the importance of what is learned from the laws that are derived, and their limits. Stress is placed on the importance of careful design of experiments as to reduce systematic errors and on good practices to avoid common mistakes. Data are always analyzed using computer software. C-like structures are introduced in teaching how to program Arduino, while data collection and analysis is done using Python. Several methods of graphical representation of data are used.

Book Synopsis Una matematica da favola - Livello 1 - Scuola Primaria by : Valeria Razzini
Download or read book Una matematica da favola - Livello 1 - Scuola Primaria written by Valeria Razzini and published by Edizioni Centro Studi Erickson. This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis World Development Report 2019 by : World Bank
Download or read book World Development Report 2019 written by World Bank and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2018-10-31 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Work is constantly reshaped by technological progress. New ways of production are adopted, markets expand, and societies evolve. But some changes provoke more attention than others, in part due to the vast uncertainty involved in making predictions about the future. The 2019 World Development Report will study how the nature of work is changing as a result of advances in technology today. Technological progress disrupts existing systems. A new social contract is needed to smooth the transition and guard against rising inequality. Significant investments in human capital throughout a person’s lifecycle are vital to this effort. If workers are to stay competitive against machines they need to train or retool existing skills. A social protection system that includes a minimum basic level of protection for workers and citizens can complement new forms of employment. Improved private sector policies to encourage startup activity and competition can help countries compete in the digital age. Governments also need to ensure that firms pay their fair share of taxes, in part to fund this new social contract. The 2019 World Development Report presents an analysis of these issues based upon the available evidence.

Book Synopsis Digital Draw Connections by : Fabio Bianconi
Download or read book Digital Draw Connections written by Fabio Bianconi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-04-27 with total page 1137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book stems from the seminal work of Robert Venturi and aims at re-projecting it in the current cultural debate by extending it to the scale of landscape and placing it in connection with representative issues. It brings out the transdisciplinary synthesis of a necessarily interdisciplinary approach to the theme, aimed at creating new models which are able to represent the complexity of a contradictory reality and to redefine the centrality of human dimension. As such, the volume gathers multiple experiences developed in different geographical areas, which come into connection with the role of representation. Composed of 43 chapters written by 81 authors from around the world, with an introduction by Jim Venturi and Cezar Nicolescu, the volume is divided into two parts, the first one more theoretical and the other one which showcases real-world applications, although there is never a total split between criticism and operational experimentation of research.
Book Synopsis Strategic Environmental Assessment and Urban Planning by : Giovanni Campeol
Download or read book Strategic Environmental Assessment and Urban Planning written by Giovanni Campeol and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-07-06 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Synopsis The Mathematics Teacher in the Digital Era by : Alison Clark-Wilson
Download or read book The Mathematics Teacher in the Digital Era written by Alison Clark-Wilson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-08 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume addresses the key issue of the initial education and lifelong professional learning of teachers of mathematics to enable them to realize the affordances of educational technology for mathematics. With invited contributions from leading scholars in the field, this volume contains a blend of research articles and descriptive texts. In the opening chapter John Mason invites the reader to engage in a number of mathematics tasks that highlight important features of technology-mediated mathematical activity. This is followed by three main sections: An overview of current practices in teachers’ use of digital technologies in the classroom and explorations of the possibilities for developing more effective practices drawing on a range of research perspectives (including grounded theory, enactivism and Valsiner’s zone theory). A set of chapters that share many common constructs (such as instrumental orchestration, instrumental distance and double instrumental genesis) and research settings that have emerged from the French research community, but have also been taken up by other colleagues. Meta-level considerations of research in the domain by contrasting different approaches and proposing connecting or uniting elements
