Book Synopsis Genocidio y resistencia by : Juan Pablo Artinian
Download or read book Genocidio y resistencia written by Juan Pablo Artinian and published by EUDEBA. This book was released on 2023-11-01 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis El genocidio armenio by : Jorge G. Derkrikorian
Download or read book El genocidio armenio written by Jorge G. Derkrikorian and published by Ediciones LEA. This book was released on with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Rafael Bielsa

This book was released on 2010-04-29 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A reference guide to the vast array of art song literature and composers from Latin America, this book introduces the music of Latin America from a singer's perspective and provides a basis for research into the songs of this richly musical area of the world. The book is divided by country into 22 chapters, with each chapter containing an introductory essay on the music of the region, a catalog of art songs for that country, and a list of publishers. Some chapters include information on additional sources. Singers and teachers may use descriptive annotations (language, poet) or pedagogical annotations (range, tessitura) to determine which pieces are appropriate for their voices or programming needs, or those of their students. The guide will be a valuable resource for vocalists and researchers, however familiar they may be with this glorious repertoire.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Review: "Purify and Destroy demonstrates that it is indeed possible to compare the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia Herzegovina while respecting the specificities of each of these appalling phenomena." "Based on seminal distinction between massacre and genocide, Purify and Destroy identifies the main steps of a general process of destruction, both rational and irrational, born of what Semelin terms "delusional rationality." Semelin identifies the main stages that can lead to a genocidal process, and explains how ordinary people can become perpetrators."--Jacket
Book Synopsis The Massacre in History by : Mark Levene
Download or read book The Massacre in History written by Mark Levene and published by Berghahn Books. This book was released on 1999 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Six papers from a March 1995 conference in Warwick, England, and seven additional commissioned essays span from the 11th century to the early 1990s and from western Europe to China. The historian authors explore such issues as what a massacre is, when and why it happens, cultural and political frameworks, how human societies respond, social and economic repercussions, and whether they are catalysts for change. They suggest that the massacre is often central to the course of human development and societal change. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

Download or read book Revolution and Genocide written by Robert Melson and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1996-06 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a study that compares the major attempts at genocide in world history, Robert Melson creates a sophisticated framework that links genocide to revolution and war. He focuses on the plights of Jews after the fall of Imperial Germany and of Armenians after the fall of the Ottoman as well as attempted genocides in the Soviet Union and Cambodia. He argues that genocide often is the end result of a complex process that starts when revolutionaries smash an old regime and, in its wake, try to construct a society that is pure according to ideological standards.
