Book excerpt: Due to the 2008-2009 crisis, the United Nations 2030 agenda for sustainable development, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of entrepreneurship has become more critical in most economies. Moreover, emerging protectionist policies are further encouraging the emergence of new entrepreneurial projects, particularly to replace goods and services traditionally provided by other countries. Understanding current challenges and best practices in nascent entrepreneurship is integral for the successful launching of new ventures to support the revitalization of economies and achieve sustainability. The Handbook of Research on Nascent Entrepreneurship and Creating New Ventures is a crucial reference source that covers the latest empirical research findings in the field of entrepreneurship and addresses the obstacles entrepreneurs face in these recent challenging times. The book embraces a pluralistic perspective from academicians currently navigating nascent entrepreneurship and key concepts for launching successful new ventures. Covering topics that include government support programs, spin-off companies, leadership, strategic entrepreneurship, and crowdfunding, this book is targeted towards entrepreneurs, professionals, academicians, researchers, and students.

Book Synopsis Analyzing the Relationship Between Innovation, Value Creation, and Entrepreneurship by : Galindo-Martín, Miguel-Ángel
Download or read book Analyzing the Relationship Between Innovation, Value Creation, and Entrepreneurship written by Galindo-Martín, Miguel-Ángel and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-12-13 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation stimulates and facilitates entrepreneurship because the highest levels of entrepreneurship are to be found in societies with the highest value creation and digital dividends. The higher levels of consumption, employment, and cost reduction generated by the implementation of digital technologies motivates entrepreneurs to expand their activity and promotes the emergence of new entrepreneurs. Positive outcomes can be generated by the implementation of innovation leaders to higher competition and new markets, incentivizing entrepreneurs to introduce new innovations to react to these higher levels of competition, which are accompanied by their corresponding value creation. Analyzing the Relationship Between Innovation, Value Creation, and Entrepreneurship is a pivotal reference source that analyzes the theoretical and empirical aspects of innovation as a factor that enhances value creation and the role of entrepreneurship. While highlighting topics such as data management, social enterprise, and digital marketing, this publication explores enhanced economic growth and the methods of higher levels of consumption in society. This book is ideally designed for corporate managers, business executives, academicians, students, and researchers seeking current research on interrelationships between financial variables, strategies to apply them at the micro- and macro-level, and a consideration of the fiscal effects once implemented.

Book Synopsis Entrepreneurship Education and Training Programs around the World by : Alexandria Valerio
Download or read book Entrepreneurship Education and Training Programs around the World written by Alexandria Valerio and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Entrepreneurship has attracted global interest for its potential to catalyze economic and social development. Research suggesting that certain entrepreneurial mindsets and skills can be learned has given rise to the field of entrepreneurship education and training (EET). Despite the growth of EET, global knowledge about these programs and their impact remains thin. In response, this study surveys the available literature and program evaluations to propose a Conceptual Framework for understanding the EET program landscape. The study finds that EET today consists of a heterogeneous mix of programs that can be broken into two groups: entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship training. These programs target a range of participants: secondary and post-secondary education students, as well as potential and practicing entrepreneurs. The outcomes measured by program evaluations are equally diverse but generally fall under the domains of entrepreneurial mindsets and capabilities, entrepreneurial status, and entrepreneurial performance. The dimensions of EET programs vary according the particular target group. Programs targeting secondary education students focus on the development of foundational skills linked to entrepreneurship, while post-secondary education programs emphasize skills related to strategic business planning. Programs targeting potential entrepreneurs generally are embedded within broader support programs and tend to target vulnerable populations for whom employment alternatives may be limited. While programs serving practicing entrepreneurs focus on strengthening entrepreneurs knowledge, skills and business practices, which while unlikely to transform an enterprise in the near term, may accrue benefits to entrepreneurs over time. The study also offers implications for policy and program implementation, emphasizing the importance of clarity about target groups and desired outcomes when making program choices, and sound understanding of extent to which publicly-supported programs offer a broader public good, and compare favorably to policy alternatives for supporting the targeted individuals as well as the overall economic and social objectives.

Give yourself a huge head-start by learning directly from experienced China pioneers. CHINA ENTREPRENEURS delivers street-tested advice on launching, growing, and operating your own business in China. Authors Juan Antonio Fernandez, professor of Management at the China Europe International Business School, and Laurie Underwood, accomplished journalist and Director of External Communications at CEIBS, use their combined 26 years of China experience to interview 40 successful international entrepreneurs who have launched and built businesses in China. These entrepreneurs share their first-hand advice, anecdotes and best practices in tackling the key challenges of winning in the China market, from negotiating with government and winning necessary start-up approvals, to hiring and keeping the right staff, to collecting payments and to safeguarding intellectual property. In addition, the experiences of the entrepreneurs will be juxtaposed against insights from experienced China consultants who assist start-ups in operating in China.
