Book excerpt: In the middle of August, 1851, young Enoch Carter Cloud, of land-locked Columbus, Ohio, cast his fate literally to the winds and signed up to sail out of New Bedford on the whale ship 'The Henry Kneeland'. For nearly 3 years he kept a journal detailing the glory, hardships, and dangers of life at sea. The journey took Cloud around the world -- from New England to Portugal, around Africa, to New Zealand and across the Pacific. Encounters with native peoples, mutinous crew members, and the elements are depicted in the peculiarly colourful and detailed language of the time.

Download or read book Enoch’s Journey written by Earl A. Jones and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2018-12-26 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enoch's Journey will shed light on Enoch's walk with God, as well as your own. The book discusses Enoch's three-hundred-year walk, including some of the issues that he would face along the way--problems that would come to hinder and impede his close fellowship with God. It also discusses the more clearly defined journeys of Joseph and Job. If you have read their stories in the Bible, you know that both faced plenty of challenges, fraught with peril and trial. However, there was a purpose to reshape them so that they could be transported into the next phase of their lives, ready to fulfill the larger calling that God had always intended for them. Many other biblical figures are also discussed in this book, generally in a lighthearted manner. Rest assured that there is always a higher purpose to every trial and challenge that we face in life. Reading this book will encourage us to continue to walk with God and keep up the pace so we can see the end of the journey, as well as the beginning, and we can know how to thrive in God's true purpose for our lives.

Book excerpt: In the year 2047, Dr. Rachel Sinclair, an archaeologist, makes a groundbreaking discovery in the Judean desert—an ancient artifact bearing cryptic symbols reminiscent of the Book of Enoch. Through relentless study and deciphering, Rachel realizes the potential of Enoch’s visions, considering them as encoded instructions for cosmic navigation rather than mere allegory. Driven by her conviction, Rachel deciphers the artifact’s symbols, revealing coordinates that point to distant star systems. She envisions Enoch’s Ark—a futuristic vessel fueled by stellar energies capable of traversing interstellar distances. Despite potential skepticism and disbelief from governments and skeptics, Rachel remains steadfast in her resolve to unlock cosmic secrets and embark on a voyage into the unknown.
