Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit dem Thema des demografischen Wandels und seinen Auswirkungen sowie mit der Fragestellung, ob neue Denkstrukturen im Personalmanagement und der konsequente Einbezug verdeckter Potentiale sowie Empowerment als eine innovative Chance und Antwort auf den demografischen Wandel herausgearbeitet werden können um der der Verknappung des Arbeitskräftepotentials in Einrichtungen des Gesundheitswesens entgegenzuwirken. Vor dem Hintergrund des demografischen Wandels befindet sich Deutschland nach aktuellen Einschätzungen in einer Entwicklung, in der es zu einer Schrumpfung und besonders schnellen demografischen Alterung der Bevölkerung kommt (vgl. BMFSFJ 2007: 11). Aus der Alterung und dem Rückgang der Erwerbsbevölkerung ergibt sich zusammen mit dem Strukturwandel und der wachsenden Bedeutung der Dienstleistungsgesellschaft eine Problemlage, welche für Unternehmen eine Herausforderung darstellt, möglichen personellen Engpässen im Personalmanagement zu begegnen. Für Unternehmen wird es immer schwieriger an eine ihrer wichtigsten Ressourcen, dem Humankapital, zu gelangen. Mit ihren jetzigen Rekrutierungsmethoden können Unternehmen diese Herausforderung in Zukunft immer schwerer bewältigen. Von großer Bedeutung wird es in Zukunft daher sein, die Potentiale und Stärken aller Gruppen im erwerbsfähigen Alter für Unternehmen nutzbar zu machen. Um die Herausforderungen des demografischen Wandels erfolgreich zu bewältigen, wird ein innovatives Talentmanagement und ein neues Denken im Führungs- und Personalmanagement notwendig sein (vgl. Bruch, Kunze, Böhm 2010: 15). Das Ziel dieser Arbeit besteht darin, durch Literaturstudium innovative und notwendige Maßnahmen im Personalmanagement zu erarbeiten. Es soll der Hintergrund für die neuen Herausforderungen, welche mit der demografischen Entwicklung für das betriebliche Personalmanagement verbunden sind, näher beschrieben werden. Es ist nötig neue Denkstrukturen im modernen Personalmanagement zu entwickeln sowie ungenutzte vorhandene Potentiale zu erschließen. Die Bedeutung neuer Rekrutierungsmethoden und die Entdeckung neuer Potentiale für das Humankapital nimmt aktuell immer weiter zu. Unternehmen ist klar geworden, dass der demografische Wandel ein wichtiges Thema für ihre zukünftige Produktivität und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit ist. Du Bois’s The World and Africa, published in 1946, recognized the depth of the crisis that the war had brought to Europe, and hence to Europe’s domination over much of the globe. Du Bois believed that Africa’s past provided lessons for its future, for international statecraft, and for humanity’s mastery of social relations and commerce. Frederick Cooper revisits a history in which Africans were both empire-builders and the objects of colonization, and participants in the events that gave rise to global capitalism. Of the many pathways out of empire that African leaders envisioned in the 1940s and 1950s, Cooper asks why they ultimately followed the one that led to the nation-state, a political form whose limitations and dangers were recognized by influential Africans at the time. Cooper takes account of the central fact of Africa’s situation—extreme inequality between Africa and the western world, and extreme inequality within African societies—and considers the implications of this past trajectory for the future. Reflecting on the vast body of research on Africa since Du Bois’s time, Cooper corrects outdated perceptions of a continent often relegated to the margins of world history and integrates its experience into the mainstream of global affairs.

The development of conjoint analysis and its application to marketing and business research is noteworthy, both in its eclectic roots (psychometrics, statistics, operations research, economics) and the fact that its development reflects the efforts of a large variety of professionals -academics, market ing research consultants, industry practitioners, and software developers. Reasons for the early success and diffusion of conjoint analysis are not hard to find. First, by the early sixties, precursory psychometric techniques (e.g., multidimensional scaling and correspondence analysis, cluster analy sis, and general multivariate techniques) had already shown their value in practical business research and application. Second, conjoint analysis pro vided a new and powerful array of methods for tackling the important problem of representing and predicting buyer preference judgments and choice behavior-clearly a major problem area in marketing.
