This book was released on 1995 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A laboratory-based fuel mixture preparation system has been developed that is capable of generating a wide range of fuel/air mixtures, including production of a premixed, prevaporized homogeneous charge, beginning with liquid gasoline fuel. This system has been developed to allow the study of the effects of fuel/air mixture preparation characteristics on engine combustion, in-cylinder pressure, and exhaust emissions. The objectives of this study were: (1) to develop a fueling system capable of producing a wide variety in the characteristics of the fuel/air mixture, and (2) to study the trends in the emissions and combustion behavior with A/F of a carbureted engine, and the engine provided with a premixed, prevaporized, and homogeneous air/fuel mixture.
