It is written in a down-to-earth style and explains jargon, technical terms and schematics as they arise. The author builds a genuine understanding of the fundamentals and shows how they can be applied to a range of engineering problems. This third edition includes more real-world examples and a glossary of formulae. It contains new coverage of: - Microcontrollers - FPGAs - Classes of components - Memory (RAM, ROM, etc.) - Surface mount - High speed design - Board layout - Advanced digital electronics (e.g. processors) - Transistor circuits and circuit design - Op-amp and logic circuits - Use of test equipment - Gives readers a simple explanation of complex concepts, in terms they can understand and relate to everyday life. - Updated content throughout and new material on the latest technological advances. - Provides readers with an invaluable set of tools and references that they can use in their everyday work.

Book Synopsis Electric Circuit Problems with Solutions by : F. A. Benson
Download or read book Electric Circuit Problems with Solutions written by F. A. Benson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical-engineering and electronic-engineering students have frequently to resolve and simplify quite complex circuits in order to understand them or to obtain numerical results and a sound knowledge of basic circuit theory is therefore essential. The author is very much in favour of tutorials and the solving of problems as a method of education. Experience shows that many engineering students encounter difficulties when they first apply their theoretical knowledge to practical problems. Over a period of about twenty years the author has collected a large number of problems on electric circuits while giving lectures to students attending the first two post-intermediate years of Uni versity engineering courses. The purpose of this book is to present these problems (a total of 365) together with many solutions (some problems, with answers, given at the end of each Chapter, are left as student exercises) in the hope that they will prove of value to other teachers and students. Solutions are separated from the problems so that they will not be seen by accident. The answer is given at the end of each problem, however, for convenience. Parts of the book are based on the author's previous work Electrical Engineering Problems with Solutions which was published in 1954.

Book Synopsis The Cell Method for Electrical Engineering and Multiphysics Problems by : Piergiorgio Alotto
Download or read book The Cell Method for Electrical Engineering and Multiphysics Problems written by Piergiorgio Alotto and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-01-24 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a numerical scheme for the solution of field problems governed by partial differential equations: the cell method. The technique lends itself naturally to the solution of multiphysics problems with several interacting phenomena. The Cell Method, based on a space-time tessellation, is intimately related to the work of Tonti and to his ideas of classification diagrams or, as they are nowadays called, Tonti diagrams: a graphical representation of the problem's equations made possible by a suitable selection of a space-time framework relating physical variables to each other. The main features of the cell method are presented and links with many other discrete numerical methods (finite integration techniques, finite difference time domain, finite volumes, mimetic finite differences, etc.) are discussed. After outlining the theoretical basis of the method, a set of physical problems which have been solved with the cell method is described. These single and multiphysics problems stem from the authors' research experience in the fields of electromagnetism, elasticity, thermo-elasticity and others. Finally, the implementation of the numerical technique is described in all its main components: space-time discretization, problem formulation, solution and representation of the resulting physical fields.

Book Synopsis Inverse Problems For Electrical Networks by : Edward B Curtis
Download or read book Inverse Problems For Electrical Networks written by Edward B Curtis and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-03-02 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a very timely exposition of part of an important subject which goes under the general name of “inverse problems”. The analogous problem for continuous media has been very much studied, with a great deal of difficult mathematics involved, especially partial differential equations. Some of the researchers working on the inverse conductivity problem for continuous media (the problem of recovering the conductivity inside from measurements on the outside) have taken an interest in the authors' analysis of this similar problem for resistor networks. The authors' treatment of inverse problems for electrical networks is at a fairly elementary level. It is accessible to advanced undergraduates, and mathematics students at the graduate level. The topics are of interest to mathematicians working on inverse problems, and possibly to electrical engineers. A few techniques from other areas of mathematics have been brought together in the treatment. It is this amalgamation of such topics as graph theory, medial graphs and matrix algebra, as well as the analogy to inverse problems for partial differential equations, that makes the book both original and interesting.
