This book was released on 2018-09-21 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the summaries of the "Innovation in Pharmacy: Advances and Perspectives" that took place in Salamanca (Spain) in September 2018. The early science of chemistry and microbiology were the source of most drugs until the revolution of genetic engineering in the mid 1970s. Then biotechnology made available novel protein agents such as interferons, blood factors and monoclonal antibodies that have changed the modern pharmacy. Over the past year, a new pharmacy of oligonucleotides has emerged from the science of gene expression such as RNA splicing and RNA interference. The ability to design therapeutic agents from genomic sequences will transform treatment for many diseases. The science that created this advance and its future promise will be discussed. Phillip Allen Sharp is an American geneticist and molecular biologist who co-discovered RNA splicing. He shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Richard J. Roberts for “the discovery that genes in eukaryotes are not contiguous strings but contain introns, and that the splicing of messenger RNA to delete those introns can occur in different ways, yielding different proteins from the same DNA sequence. He works in Institute Professor Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, US.

Obviously, a rapid and definitive answer cannot be provided for this question since the aspects and situations affecting language learning are many and varied. From the role of culture to the use of new technologies in foreign language learning, this work aims to offer its readers some of the current research being carried out in different areas relevant to the topic. A long developing project has become reality thanks to the work of several researchers who are also experienced teaching professionals. In this sense, it is worth mentioning that most chapters of the book relate to different aspects of language learning within the classroom context which has resulted in realistic approaches to foreign language learning that can be of great help to those involved and/or interested in this field. Moreover, the clear division into sections allows readers to make their choice on how to proceed with the reading of the book depending on their thematic interests. Five sections make up this practical work: culture and language learning, human resources in language learning, language learning strategies, language learning software and language learning web resources.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Success in real estate is very elusive. As agents, we start our businesses looking for money and flexible hours to do what we want to do, but all too often those dreams are dashed to pieces by the crushing realities and difficulties of being real estate professionals. There simply isn't enough time in the day to do everything we want to get done, and there doesn't seem to be enough resources to make it happen. Often, we find ourselves working late nights and during the weekends with very little money to show for it. Financial hardship, irregular income, and mental and emotional fatigue are too common in this industry. The business of real estate can be very, very hard if we are not fully prepared to embrace the demands of such a rewarding yet competitive profession. The good news is that there is hope. You can conquer the chaos, you can have the business you always wanted, and you can have a great life. Many have done it, and there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to. Over the past 15 years, I've personally coached and interviewed thousands of agents, and 30 of the top agents in the country including #4 and #7 according to Forbes and the Wall Street Journal and I discovered that they all do different things in different ways, but they all do the major things the same way. What they don't do? They don't do Cold Calls They don't call expired listings They don't work with For Sale By Owners They don't just send postcards What they do is 100X more powerful than ANY of those things. And even now, hardly anybody understands the strategy. The following pages are filled with exciting stories and ideas from successful brokers and agents who are going to share with us what works and what it takes to build a successful real estate practice in today's crowded real estate industry. Our purpose at The Montiel Organization is to help real estate agents succeed by following a three-step process. First, increase profitability. Second, put in place systems to automate the business. Third, scale the practice to make more money and have more free time. These three steps are the reason our company exists. Having worked with thousands of agents, we've seen consistent patterns among those agents that are successful and those that are not. In this book I have interviewed 12 of the most successful real estate agents and brokers in North America. They are in the top 1% of their peers in the nation, and they have consistently grown their revenues, profits, and positive reputations based on their uniquely valuable problem-solving throughout the marketplace. They increasingly transform the structures, relationships, and systems within their businesses. The insights they have all generously shared with me during our interviews for the Miami Real Estate Show are invaluable. Enjoy the book!

Book excerpt: "Gripping . . . the narrative is smooth and immediate, almost effortless in its detail, if occasionally breathless, like a good fast run . . ." --The New York Times Book Review Visionary American running coach Bob Larsen assembled a mismatched team of elite California runners . . . the start of his decades-long quest for championships, Olympic glory, and pursuit of "the epic run." In the dusty hills above San Diego, Bob Larsen became America's greatest running coach. Starting with a ragtag group of high school cross country and track runners, Larsen set out on a decades-long quest to find the secret of running impossibly fast, for longer distances than anyone thought possible. Himself a former farm boy who fell into his track career by accident, Larsen worked through coaching high school, junior college, and college, coaxing talented runners away from more traditional sports as the running craze was in its infancy in the 60's and 70's. On the arid trails and windy roads of California, Larsen relentlessly sought the 'secret sauce' of speed and endurance that would catapult American running onto the national stage. Running to the Edge is a riveting account of Larsen's journey, and his quest to discover the unorthodox training secrets that would lead American runners (elite and recreational) to breakthroughs never imagined. New York Times Deputy Sports Editor Matthew Futterman interweaves the dramatic stories of Larsen's runners with a fascinating discourse of the science behind human running, as well as a personal running narrative that follows Futterman's own checkered love-affair with the sport. The result is a narrative that will speak to every runner, a story of Larsen's triumphs--from high school cross-country meets to the founding of the cult-favorite 70's running group, the Jamul Toads, from national championships to his long tenure as head coach at UCLA, and from the secret training regimen of world champion athletes like Larsen's protégé, American Meb Keflezighi, to victories at the New York and Boston Marathons as well as the Olympics. Running to the Edge is a page-turner . . . a relentless crusade to run faster, farther.
