Es wird hierbei unter anderem auf die aktuelle Corona- Situation und die Potentiale digitaler Medien eingegangen. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Deutschunterricht. Wenn man einen Blick auf die technischen Entwicklungen unserer Alltagsgegenstände in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten wirft, wird schnell klar, wie rasant diese sich entwickeln und sich von Jahr zu Jahr aus technischer Sicht enorm verbessern. Wo Computer vor 2 Jahrzehnten noch als Gerät zum Arbeiten fungierten und lediglich einige simple Strategiespiele boten, sind die Läden heute voll mit Hochleistungscomputern, die immer kleiner werden und immer erstaunlichere Leitungen zu bieten haben. Das Gerät, welches wohl den meisten Einfluss auf den Alltag der Menschen einnimmt, ist das Smartphone. Auch hier hat die technische Entwicklung in den letzten Jahren erstaunliches geleistet und jedes Jahr kommen zusätzliche Einsatzmöglichkeiten hinzu. Doch nicht nur die Geräte an sich haben sich verändert, auch die Gruppe der Nutzer ist eine andere geworden. Es ist zur Normalität geworden, dass Kinder eigene Smartphones besitzen und online Videospiele auf dem Computer oder Laptop spielen. Es ist außerdem zu erkennen, dass die digitalen Medien, gerade für die nachkommenden Generationen die ursprünglichen Medien teilweise ablösen. So wird nach Möglichkeit zum Lesen teilweise eher das Tablet oder Smartphone anstelle eines Buches benutzt. Auch das Schreiben, welches noch vor einigen Jahren in den Schulen ausschließlich per Hand stattfand, wird heutzutage immer mehr am Computer gemacht. Zu den Vor- und Nachteilen diesbezüglich gibt es unzählige unterschiedliche Meinungen.

Der Fokus soll also darauf liegen, ob durch den Einsatz digitaler Medien im Unterricht eine Verbesserung der Lernergebnisse erzielt werden kann. Es geht in dieser Arbeit im Vordergrund um die Mediendidaktik, also das Lernen mit digitalen Medien. Ein kurzer Abriss der Entwicklung der Schule zum digitalen Bildungsraum wird dargestellt, um zu sehen, wie sich die Schule bereits in den letzten Jahren verändert hat und somit auch das Verständnis der Schule als Bildungsraum. Im nächsten Kapitel geht es dann ausführlich um den Einsatz digitaler Medien im schulischen Bereich. Zunächst werden die Bereiche beschrieben, in denen digitale Medien heute in der Schule eingesetzt werden, denn diese können ganz vielfältig und unterschiedlich sein. In einem nächsten Schritt werden Einflussfaktoren auf die Wirkung digitaler Medien beschrieben. Denn es handelt sich beim Einsatz digitaler Medien um ein multifaktorielles Geschehen, welches durch verschiedene Einflussfaktoren bedingt ist. Im Anschluss wird auf die Wirkung digitaler Medien auf verschiedenen Ebenen eingegangen, denn digitale Medien haben nicht nur Einfluss auf Schüler*innen, sondern auch auf die Lehrkräfte und das Unterrichtsgeschehen. Nur so kann herausgefunden werden, ob bzw. inwiefern digitale Medien den Unterricht unterstützen können. Dies wird auch noch im letzten Kapitel aufgegriffen, hier soll es explizit um die Potenziale digitaler Medien gehen. Abschließend wird noch einmal fokussiert, inwieweit digitale Medien das Unterrichtsgeschehen unterstützen und einen Mehrwert sowohl für Schüler*innen als auch für Lehrkräfte bieten können.

Book excerpt: A central pillar of contemporary communication research is the analysis of filmed interactions between people. The techniques employed in such analysis first took on a recognizably modern form in the 1970s, but their roots go back to the earliest days of motion picture technology in the late nineteenth century. This book presents original essays accompanied by written responses which together create a dialogue exploring early efforts at audio-visual sequence analysis and their common goal to capture the "whole" of the communicative situation. The first three chapters of this volume look at the film-based research of Gestalt psychologists in Berlin as well as psychologists in the orbit of Karl and Charlotte Bühler in Vienna in the first decades of the twentieth century. Most of these figures – along with many other Central European scholars of this era – were driven into exile in the United States after the rise of National Socialism in the 1930s. This scientific migration led to the cross-pollination of communication studies in America, an outcome visible in the leading project in interaction research of the mid-twentieth century, the Natural History of an Interview. The following two chapters examine this project in its historical context. The volume closes with a critical edition of a treasure from the archives: the transcript of a speech delivered by Ray Birdwhistell, a key participant in the Natural History of an Interview project and founder of kinesics.

This book provides a first in-depth analysis of the kind of communicative abilities which are embodied in such CLIL classrooms. It examines teacher and student talk at secondary school level from different discourse-analytic angles, taking into account the interpersonal pragmatics of classroom discourse and how school subjects are talked into being during lessons. The analysis shows how CLIL classroom interaction is strongly shaped by its institutional context, which in turn conditions the ways in which students experience, use and learn the target language. The research presented here suggests that CLIL programmes require more explicit language learning goals in order to fully exploit their potential for furthering the learners’ appropriation of a foreign language as a medium of learning.
