Book Synopsis Computerized Decision Making Aids and Their Potential Role in Managing Brazilian Agriculture by : M. A. Seixas
Download or read book Computerized Decision Making Aids and Their Potential Role in Managing Brazilian Agriculture written by M. A. Seixas and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation is concerned with the Brazilian farmers managerial capacity, the impact on management techniques and the potential improvements in Brazilian agricultural decision making that can occur on farms as a result of using computerised management techniques. The research has taken the form of a literature survey to show the theoretical improvements in agricultural decision making that may arise, and in particular a Brazilian computerised management information system was analysed in order to determine what benefits have actually arisen. This dissertation reviews the information requirements for decision making, quantitative analysis and the usefulness of Linear Programming and Simulation Modelling as aids to making better decisions, thus showingthe possible beneficial effects of a computerised management information system on decision making. The author emphasises that agricultural decision makers are benefiting from the use of computerised management techniques as support to analysing, selecting and choosing decisions in terms of speed, accuracy and timeliness. Finally, in the conclusion, the author stresses many benefits that the use of computerised management information systems such as PROFAZENDA built by EMBRAPA, may provide to Brazilian agriculture as a whole.
