This book was released on 2022-11-15 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Two Half Faces written by Mustafa Stitou and published by Deep Vellum Publishing. This book was released on 2020-10-13 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his first English-language collection, Dutch-Moroccan poet Mustafa Stitou marks his position as one of the most important poets of his generation. Two Half Faces collects work from across Stitou’s career as he grapples with a vital narrative of cultural friction and determines his position in a changing reality. Absurdity and seriousness go hand in hand in Stitou’s work; the anecdotal combines with the irreverent and the sublime to form a vibrant tension. Stitou brilliantly parlays his relationship with his two homelands into a chronicle of identity and tension: East and West come into conflict with each other, complicate reality, and yet refuse stereotypes. This collection charts Stitou’s place as a conceptual poet of emotion and intellect who has grown from ingenue to master, one able to perfectly illuminate the frisson of overlapping cultural identities.
Book Synopsis Jo van Gogh-Bonger by : Hans Luijten
Download or read book Jo van Gogh-Bonger written by Hans Luijten and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 593 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is so good, after so many years of public indifference, even hostility towards Vincent and his work, to feel towards the end of my life that the battle is won.' JO VAN GOGH-BONGER TO GUSTAVE COQUIOT, 1922 'It is a sacrifice for the sake of Vincent's glory.' JO VAN GOGH-BONGER ON THE SALE OF 'THE SUNFLOWERS' TO THE NATIONAL GALLERY, UK, 1924 Little known but no less influential, Jo van Gogh-Bonger was sister-in-law of Vincent van Gogh, wife of his brother, Theo. When the brothers died soon after each other, she took charge of Van Gogh's artistic legacy and devoted the rest of her life to disseminating his work. Despite being widowed with a young son, Jo successfully navigated the male-dominated world of the art market-publishing Van Gogh's letters, organizing exhibitions in the Netherlands and throughout the world, and making strategic sales to private individuals and influential dealers-ultimately establishing Van Gogh's reputation as one of the finest artists of his generation. In doing so, she fundamentally changed how we view the relationship between the artist and his work. She also lived a rich and fascinating life-not only was she friends with eminent writers and artists, but she also was active within the Social Democratic Labour Party and closely involved in emerging women's movements. Using rich source material, including unseen diaries, documents and letters, Hans Luijten charts the multi-faceted life of this visionary woman with the drive to shake the art world to its core.

Book Synopsis Koelies, planters en koloniale politiek by : J. Breman
Download or read book Koelies, planters en koloniale politiek written by J. Breman and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2022-02-22 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book De Falende God written by Mike Jansen and published by Verschijnsel. This book was released on 2011-12-03 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Martin. – Tais Teng”
