Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book US Cavalry Horse written by John Jones and published by . This book was released on 2015-01-04 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Class, hard work, attention to detail, in addition to supreme athletic ability, patience and keen intellect are the beginning of requirement to be a rider of the Cavalry Horse. Many would sneer at the excessive attention these men insisted on giving their horse, the discipline they need to ensure that proper means were taken and the safest procedures followed every single day. First published in 1895, this book was intended to be a better handbook of instructions for teaching some of the elementary facts and principles essential to the well-being and efficiency of the cavalry. A horse is capable of long and valuable service, but only if it is carefully selected, trained and cared properly. In these pages General Carter combines theory and practice so that the readers are able to fully understand the necessity of taking care of their steed at all times, whether at war or at peace. General Carter explains all of the benefits such precautions and maintenance provide and warns against less than ideal conditions, detailing the rise in cost and detriment to performance that less than supreme care will render. Illustrated throughout with photographs and line drawings, The US Cavalry Horse will be an important addition to any equestrian library.
Book Synopsis The Horse at Gettysburg by : Chris Bagley
Download or read book The Horse at Gettysburg written by Chris Bagley and published by Gettysburg Publishing. This book was released on 2021-08-03 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Horses are one of the many unsung heroes of the American Civil War. These majestic animals were impressed into service, trained, prepared for battle, and turned into expendable implements of war. There is more to this story, however. When an army’s means and survival is predicated upon an animal whose instincts are to flee rather than fight, a bond of mutual trust and respect between handler and horse must be forged. Ultimately, the Battle of Gettysburg resulted in thousands of horses killed and wounded. Their story deserves telling, from a time not so far removed.

Book Synopsis Galician Migrations: A Case Study of Emerging Super-diversity by : Renée DePalma
Download or read book Galician Migrations: A Case Study of Emerging Super-diversity written by Renée DePalma and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-18 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This focused case study analyses the roots of super-diversity in a place where immigration is an emerging phenomenon, Northwestern Spain (Galicia). It is characterized by a mostly rural population, an aging demographic, and a historically depressed economy. Yet the region has recently experienced a significant increase in immigration - a reversal of the region’s historically pronounced trend of emigration. To understand immigration in its early stages, this book takes a historical approach that focuses on diversities that go beyond nationality. It explores local yet international phenomena such as different patterns of return migration, transnational community and familial relationships, and niche labour markets. The book takes a broad interdisciplinary perspective, drawing on sociology, anthropology, history, sociolinguistics, literature, and education, to provide a detailed case study analysis. While the case is specific, many other geographic regions will share some of the factors the book explores. Understanding how these factors interact will provide a useful point of contrast for analysing them in a range of other international contexts.
Book Synopsis De Orwell al cibercontrol by : Armand Mattelart y André Vitalis
Download or read book De Orwell al cibercontrol written by Armand Mattelart y André Vitalis and published by Editorial GEDISA. This book was released on 2015-04-15 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
