A partir de dados produzidos em salas de aula, Muzinatti nos apresenta três episódios narrativos fictícios, nos quais nos apresenta o professor Lucas e seu estagiário Armando. Ambos nos trarão observações, críticas e indagações de nossos alunos de Matemática. Embasado pela Educação Matemática Crítica, o autor discute os episódios no sentido de compartilhar com o leitor a suspeita de que valores, convicções, possíveis questionamentos, mitos e uma considerável passividade quanto às injustiças sociais podem estar sendo transmitidos (pelos educadores) também aos alunos de classes mais favorecidas do ensino fundamental, em aulas de Matemática.
