Book excerpt: NOTE: Illustrated and designed to encourage the newer generation, especially those who find it difficult to read Arabic or any other language, this is a humble attempt at reaching out to people across the globe so that they can benefit from the blessings of such duas. It has both, Arabic as well as English text for the readers to benefit it from. About Dua e Kumayl: Kumayl Ibn Ziyad was a prominent companion of Amir al Muminin, Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as.) and this sublime Dua was first heard from the beautiful, though anguished, voice of Imam Ali.According to Allama Majlisi, Kumayl had attended an assembly in the Mosque at Basra which was addressed by Imam Ali in which the night of the 15th of Shaban was mentioned. Imam Ali said- "Whosoever keeps awake in devoutness on this night (15th Shaban) and recites the Dua of Prophet Khizr, undoubtedly that person's supplication will be responded to and granted."When the assembly at the Mosque had dispersed, Kumayl called at the house where Imam Ali was staying, and requested him to inform him of Prophet Khizr's Dua. Imam Ali asked Kumayl to sit down, record and memorise the Dua which Imam Ali dictated to Kumayl.Imam Ali then advised Kumayl to recite this Dua on the eve of (i.e. evening preceding) every Friday, or once a month or at least once in every year so that, added Imam Ali,"Allah may protect thee from the evils of the enemies and the plots contrived by impostors. O' Kumayl! in consideration of thy companionship and understanding, I grant thee this honour of entrusting this Dua to thee.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A celebrated collection of supplication and whispered prayers attributed to Imam Zain Al Abedin, the great grandson of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and son of Imam Husayn Ibn Ali (A.S). Al Sahifa Al Sajjadiyya is an example of the highest form of eloquence. According to Shia narrations, the book is said to have been composed after the Battle of Karbala (680 AD) and describes the relationship between man and God. Shia tradition considers this book with great respect, ranking it behind the Quran and Ali's Nahj al-Balagha. Sahifa-e-Sajjadiya comprises of heart touching supplications given to us as a gift from our beloved Imam Ali Ibn Al Hussain. To be honest, I would read Sahifa-e-Sajjadia rarely; only if it would be mentioned to read a particular supplication in some salat to be read on special holy days. This was mainly because of its inaccessibility as an easy read. Most books that I would find are in Arabic. English is a language most easily understood by many. Hence the thought of compiling these beautiful supplications in a commonly used, global language arose. It's amazing how when Allah decides to bless you, he will cause situations to come together in your favour. This is compilation in the form of a beautifully coloured and designed book is a humble step towards reaching out to people who can make these supplications a part of their routine read and put them to good use in their daily lives. We wish our readers a happy read! "Be thankful for the unknown blessings already on their way"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The life and legacy of one of Mohammad’s closest confidants and Islam’s patron saint: Ali ibn Abi Talib Ali ibn Abi Talib is arguably the single most important spiritual and intellectual authority in Islam after prophet Mohammad. Through his teachings and leadership as fourth caliph, Ali nourished Islam. But Muslims are divided on whether he was supposed to be Mohammad’s political successor—and he continues to be a polarizing figure in Islamic history. Hassan Abbas provides a nuanced, compelling portrait of this towering yet divisive figure and the origins of sectarian division within Islam. Abbas reveals how, after Mohammad, Ali assumed the spiritual mantle of Islam to spearhead the movement that the prophet had led. While Ali’s teachings about wisdom, justice, and selflessness continue to be cherished by both Shia and Sunni Muslims, his pluralist ideas have been buried under sectarian agendas and power politics. Today, Abbas argues, Ali’s legacy and message stands against that of ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Taliban.

Book excerpt: Dr. Nakshawani in the following work not only corrects the widespread misconception that the Shi’i intellectual tradition despises and curses all Companions, but also clarifies the reason for which some Companions were considered people of Paradise in the Shi’i (and usually the Sunni) tradition. In a few places, the author notes reasons for which the Shi’i tradition does not venerate certain Companions. Discussing controversial history as it relates to Companions and the ahl al-bayt remains a difficult enterprise, where methods and premises, let alone conclusions, substantially differ from scholar to scholar. As an expert of the Shi’i tradition, Dr. Nakshawani presents relevant Shi’i narratives for non-specialists who would otherwise be unaware of them. Thus, the following biographies fill a gap in knowledge about Companions not only revered in the Shi’i tradition, but according to the collective memory of pro-Alid Sunni and Shi’i authors, granted Paradise.

Book excerpt: This book contains one hundred narrations based on the chains of transmission that are accepted by the General Population, about the merits of the commander of the Believers, Ali b. Abī Ṭālib, and his sons, the Imams. This book specifically has had a great impact in the Muslim world because the author has carefully selected the sources from Sunni books, thereby eliminating any question of impartiality. Those who study the history of Islam find that occasionally, paid writers try to create doubt in the peoples’ hearts with their poisonous books. It is our scholars who fight them with precious and authentic publications, such as this one, which is void of any personal opinion. There are two editions of this book. The first is in the library of Āyatullāh Sayyid Muṣṭafā Al-Khūnsārī, and the second one is in the library of Āyatullāh Al-Mar'ashī Al-Najafī.
