Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would biology look like if it took the problem of natural evil seriously? This book argues that biological descriptions of evolution are inherently moral, just as the biblical story of creation has biological implications. A complete account of evolution will therefore require theological input. The Dome of Eden does not try to harmonize evolution and creation. Harmonizers typically begin with Darwinism and then try to add just enough religion to make evolution more palatable, or they begin with Genesis and pry open the creation account just wide enough to let in a little bit of evolution. By contrast, Stephen Webb provides a theory of how evolution and theology fit together, and he argues that this kind of theory is required by the internal demands of both theology and biology. The Dome of Eden also develops a theological account of evolution that is distinct from the intelligent design movement. Webb shows how intelligent design properly discerns the inescapable dimension of purpose in nature but, like Darwinism itself, fails to make sense of the problem of natural evil. Finally, this book draws on the work of Karl Barth to advance a new reading of the Genesis narrative and the theology of Duns Scotus to provide the necessary metaphysical foundation for evolutionary thought.

Scientists. Technicians. Bureaucrats. And the special ones, recipients of an advanced technology - as much machine as human, or more animal than man. They are the citizens of the Dome. Sentenced to the endless night of the ocean floor. Safe from the virus-ravaged surface. They are humanity's last chance.

Book excerpt: While researching information for the publication of my 9th book The Flat Earth As Key To Decrypt The Book Of Enoch, I was led to understanding that not only does the Bible support premise that the earth is a flat circular plane but that it is covered by the firmament as a solid transparent dome like canopy. This led me to revisit the canonical and extra Biblical texts such as The Book Of Enoch, The Book Of Jasher, The Book Of Jubilees, and myriad others, to see if not only did they affirm such idea but if they contained other little known insight which might expound upon this matter in some detailed manner. This book is the end result of that search and compilation of all of those source references. And because I include in this study much extra Biblical material which few are familiar with, I doubt one will be able to find a more complete investigation of the firmament as topic than that which is presented here. The seeker of lost paradise may seem a fool to those whom have never sought the other worlds

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How a bottom-up problem-solving ethos, multidisciplinary approach, and experimental mindset has nurtured entrepreneurship at MIT. MIT is world-famous as a launching pad for entrepreneurs. MIT alumni have founded at least 30,000 active companies, employing an estimated 4.6 million people, with revenues of approximately $1.9 trillion. In the 2010s, twenty to thirty ventures were spun off each year to commercialize technologies developed in MIT labs (with intellectual property licensed by MIT to these companies); in the same decade, MIT graduates started an estimated 100 firms per year. How has MIT become such a hotbed of entrepreneurship? In From the Basement to the Dome, Jean-Jacques Degroof describes how MIT's problem-solving ethos, multidisciplinary approach, and experimental mindset nurture entrepreneurship. Degroof explains that, at first, the culture of entrepreneurship sprang from such extracurricular activities as forums, clubs, and competitions. Eventually, the Institute formally supported these activities, offering courses in entrepreneurship. Degroof describes why entrepreneurship is so uniquely aligned with MIT's culture: a history of bottom-up decision-making, a tradition of academic excellence, a keen interest in problem-solving, a belief in experimentation, and a tolerance for failure on the way to success. Entrepreneurship is the logical outcome of MIT's motto, Mens et Manus (mind and hand) ), translating theories and scientific discoveries into products and businesses--many of which have the goal of solving some of the world's most pressing problems. Degroof maps MIT's current entrepreneurial ecosystem of students, faculty, and researchers; considers the effectiveness of teaching entrepreneurship; and outlines ways that the MIT story could inspire conversations in other institutions about promoting entrepreneurship.

Book excerpt: In search of destiny, two paths intersect. Finding light in a time of darkness. In search of her mother’s promise. Discover meaning or face his end. In the year 2052, the Dome Initiative was introduced. Put in place after a worldwide pandemic cost the lives of around 17% of the human population. Fear of another pandemic and the promise of economic stability should the repeat occur, cities worldwide began constructing glass domes over their cities. A newly created, flexible, almost indestructible glass, allowed for the creation of immense glass structures. Though all fell short in scale to a City Dome. Twenty kilometres wide, allowing the city space to grow within. Outside the world's eco system collapsed creating weather upheaval and food shortages. A new pandemic spread as the population outside the domes fell into crisis. Civilization began to collapse. In a radical decision two mandates were put in place. One was a specially created genetic inoculation to the pandemic now sweeping the globe. The second was isolating the inoculated population inside the domes to protect them from not only the deteriorating environment but attacks from outside. Now five hundred years later and the effects of the genetic manipulation are truly apparent. Effecting the body’s ability to produce certain chemicals, specifically the ones responsible for desire and attraction. Safe within their dome’s life has stagnated as the world outside is forgotten. No longer do people seek love or connection. All now is discovery, what one can learn, invent. or achieve. Though outside life is not as dead as the dome dwellers think. Life still clings to existence and may hold the key to the world's salvation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The Firmament of the Sky Dome' explores how a supernova explosion of a large star eventually resulted in the formation of planet Earth and the rest of the Solar System as we know it today. Knowing how the Earth was created is the key that unlocks the mysteries of many global events that have occurred on our planet in the past and will take place in the near future. These include the dramatic events of the first three 'days' of the Genesis 1 account of creation: the floodlighting of the entire planet, the formation of the solid dome in the sky called 'the firmament' and the emergence of a supercontinent of dry land. Other events include Noah's flood which wiped out nearly all land-living life; the dramatic parting of the Red Sea; the breakup of the supercontinent into the present say continents; Joshua's long day when the Earth appeared to stop rotating; Ahab's sundial which indicated that the Sun had moved backwards in its normal path across the sky; the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; the extraterrestrial events that are predicted during the Great Tribulation to come; the devastation of the Earth by a Great Fire and its subsequent transformation into a paradise with the city of New Jerusalem. The book intertwines the verses from the Bible with scientific truths, and gives an entirely new insight for the interpretation of the geology of the Earth. The future of the Earth is also predicted: the Earth will be devastated by a global 'natural' nuclear explosion that will set it on fire; but this will not be the end because it will be subsequently transformed into a wonderful paradise for a new phase of existence for mankind.

Now, they must solve the biggest mystery of all: Is there life beyond Dome Six? The Dome Project was meant to protect America’s best and brightest from a climate catastrophe. When they lost contact with the outside world, all they could do was wait and hope. But four generations later, Dome Six is still waiting, and hope is in short supply. When a suspected saboteur threatens the safety of the Dome, Owen and his conspiracy-loving uncle uncover a mysterious signal that may point the way out. But a veil of lies has long obscured the Dome's secrets, and the ruling Authority will kill to protect them. As the only world they've ever known crumbles around them, Owen and his friends must stop the Authority and escape before the Dome becomes their tomb. Dome Six is a gripping and suspenseful dystopian novel with influences from Logan's Run to The Island and 1984. If you can relate to the search for hope and humanity in a world run amok, you'll devour this thought-provoking take on a near-future America.
