Utilizando-me da análise de discurso, suspeito dos essencialismos e das naturalizações como mecanismos estabelecidos por este discurso, numa tentativa de fixar o corpo como construto biológico - origem e explicação da divisão nesta disciplina escolar -, para marcá-lo como construção cultural.

Contemplou, ainda, uma escola de Educação Física, buscando compreender as relações de gênero no ensino para o ensino da Educação Física. Os documentos escritos, orais e iconográficos revelaram que a escola vem mantendo a separação e a hierarquização entre homens e mulheres, através de diferentes mecanismos. E a Educação Física - ao determinar turmas separadas por sexo, conteúdos diferenciados para homens e mulheres, professor para alunos e professora para alunas e ao caracterizar sexualmente os gestos, entre outras normas explicita valores sacralizados pelo patrimônio cultural da nossa sociedade. Tais valores são articulados e orientados por um sistema de instituições e organizações que inclui, especialmente, o Estado, a Medicina, o Exército, a Igreja Católica, a Família e a Indústria cultural. A ação pedagógica da Educação Física, contribuindo para a coisificação do corpo, participa da construção social dos sujeitos masculinos e femininos e da castração do sentido de totalidade corpo dos sujeitos - homens e mulheres. A história construída, ao mesmo tempo em que mostra sinais de perpetuação das relações de gênero hierarquizadas, com dominação masculina, revela, também, lentas mudanças, nessas mesmas relações, e, ainda, as resistências por elas geradas.

Book excerpt: Menino não dança e menina não luta: reflexões sobre a participação nas atividades da educação física escolar é fruto de uma pesquisa que teve como propósito realizar um diagnóstico das práticas corporais desenvolvidas dentro e fora das aulas de Educação Física e que influenciam na constituição da identidade de gênero, com vistas a identificar como as relações de gênero podem contribuir para a participação ou não nas aulas de Educação Física e, a partir disso, propor uma prática de ensino não sexista e que propicie o trabalho com os conteúdos, estimulando a participação. Como resultado da pesquisa com os alunos, observa-se que as capacidades e habilidades físicas são utilizadas como justificativas para determinar as diferenças entre os gêneros e que, por sua vez, influenciam na forma de participação dos discentes. Embora haja a inclusão e aceitação dos alunos e alunas nas aulas, percebe-se também que existe a presença de estereótipos que delimitam o espaço de gênero dentro das atividades físicas. Contudo, foi possível chegar a uma prática de ensino não sexista, que aconteceu por meio de um processo reflexivo, culminando em ações que pudessem ajudar a repensar a prática corporal. A necessidade de mudanças na prática de ensino está apoiada na importância de romper com as antigas práticas, que foram pensadas para formar cidadãos de outrora, em que os preceitos e valores sociais visavam o ensino separatista, com formações específicas para cada sexo. É possível perceber que, mesmo que os conceitos e abordagens nas aulas possam passar por evolução, a mudança demora um tempo para acontecer. Em alguns casos, essas mudanças podem perpassar até mesmo algumas décadas. Com isso, ao realizar a reflexão a partir da própria prática, tanto professor como os alunos e alunas puderam entender como as relações de gênero podem influenciar na participação nas aulas de Educação Física. A leitura desta obra é necessária para os que se propõe a um ensino inclusivo e não sexista, contribuindo na desconstrução de estereótipos.
