Book Synopsis Modeling And Simulation Of Distributed Systems (With Cd-rom) by : Alexander Kostin
Download or read book Modeling And Simulation Of Distributed Systems (With Cd-rom) written by Alexander Kostin and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2010-06-28 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CD-ROM with a simulation system and numerous solved models is attached to the book. Distributed systems are a continuously expanding area of computer science and computer engineering. This book addresses the need for literature on modeling and simulation techniques for distributed systems. For simulation modeling of distributed systems in the book, a specific class of extended Petri nets is used that allows to easily represent the fundamental processes of any distributed system. The book is intended, first of all, as a text for related graduate-level university courses on distributed systems in computer science and computer engineering. Other computer science and computer engineering courses would also find the book useful as a source of practical information for a broad community of those graduate students who are busy with simulation in their study and research. The book can be useful also to academics who give related graduate courses or deliver research-oriented modules for graduate students. Further, the book can be helpful to system architects and developers who apply modeling and simulation techniques as a step in the design and implementation of their systems. Containing a large number of models, with commented source texts and simulation results on the attached CD-ROM, it can also serve as valuable reference book for researchers who want to develop their own models in terms of Petri nets.

Book Synopsis Distributed Simulation of Network Protocols by : National Aeronautics and Space Adm Nasa
Download or read book Distributed Simulation of Network Protocols written by National Aeronautics and Space Adm Nasa and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-12-29 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simulations of high speed network protocols are very CPU intensive operations requiring very long run times. Very high speed network protocols (Gigabit/sec rates) require longer simulation runs in order to reach a steady state, while at the same time requiring additional CPU processing for each unit of time because of the data rates for the traffic being simulated. As protocol development proceeds and simulations provide insights into any problems associated with the protocol, the simulation model often must be changed to generate additional or finer statistical performance information. Iterating on this process is very time consuming due to the required run times for the simulation models. The results of the efforts to distribute a high speed ring network protocol, Carrier Sensed Multiple Access/Ring Network (CSMA/RN), are presented. Paterra, Frank and Overstreet, C. Book Synopsis Computer Networks and Simulation III by : S. Schoemaker
Download or read book Computer Networks and Simulation III written by S. Schoemaker and published by North Holland. This book was released on 1986 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The progress being made in the disciplines of computer networks and simulation is clearly visible in networking projects. In addition to providing a state of the art review, this volume pays special attention to two important phenomena in this field: the direct translation from (protocol) specifications to simulation models, and the increasing role of distributed systems. In the first part of the book a perspective is given on the next stage in computer network development - the evolution of ISDN systems. The complexity of these systems, the interconnection of LANs, the current possibilities of modelling and simulation, and the role of artificial intelligence therein are all discussed. The second section concentrates on protocols, tools, and the difficulty of full and exhaustive testing. Areas addressed include: integration of specification and simulation; performance evaluation; simulation of gateway computers with modelling tools in the network cycle; analysis of the use of two integrated software environments, from specification to implementation; and a multisolver queueing system.
Book Synopsis An Environment for Distributed Simulation of Command and Control Networks by : Richard A. Graham
Download or read book An Environment for Distributed Simulation of Command and Control Networks written by Richard A. Graham and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis develops a concept for the simulation of command and control networks. The concept is based upon a model of the essential functions of command and control systems and networks of systems. The model is used as the basis for discussion of network performance evaluation, and the performance characteristics of concern form a basis for the simulation architecture. The simulation concept is based upon a distributed simulation capable of utilizing a wide range of network node simulations ranging from manual procedures to manned simulators to fully automated emulators. The simulation is both flexible and transportable due to it's residence within a computer based distributed environment.

This book was released on 2018-07-02 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Advanced Control Technology Branch of the NASA Lewis Research Center performs research in the area of advanced digital controls for aeronautic and space propulsion systems. This work requires the real-time implementation of both control software and complex dynamical models of the propulsion system. We are implementing these systems in a distributed, multi-vendor computer environment. Therefore, a need exists for real-time communication and synchronization between the distributed multi-vendor computers. A shared memory network is a potential solution which offers several advantages over other real-time communication approaches. A candidate shared memory network was tested for basic performance. The shared memory network was then used to implement a distributed simulation of a ramjet engine. The accuracy and execution time of the distributed simulation was measured and compared to the performance of the non-partitioned simulation. The ease of partitioning the simulation, the minimal time required to develop for communication between the processors and the resulting execution time all indicate that the shared memory network is a real-time communication technique worthy of serious consideration.
