Book excerpt: Written by the founder of the field, this practice-oriented guide summarizes the author's breakthrough research results and their applications in chemical technology. The book adopts an entirely novel approach, describing the physical chemistry of structure formation and materials synthesis under dynamic conditions. It begins by developing the general theory in the first two chapters with as little mathematics as necessary and substantiated by experimental results in each case. The following chapters deal with the fundamental aspects of rheology, vibrorheology, and superfluidity of structured dispersed systems within the framework of physicochemical dynamics, while the final chapter exemplifies the technological applications of the developed methodology using real-life problems of materials science and chemical engineering. The authoritative guide to physicochemical dynamics.

Book Synopsis Dissolution of Gases in Liquids and the Formation of Dispersion Systems in the Mode of Torsion-Oriented Turbulization by : Dr. Lev G. Amusin Ph.D.
Download or read book Dissolution of Gases in Liquids and the Formation of Dispersion Systems in the Mode of Torsion-Oriented Turbulization written by Dr. Lev G. Amusin Ph.D. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2022-07-11 with total page 71 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this work is to develop the theoretical background of innovative breakthrough physicochemical processes of the dissolution of hazardous and toxic gases and the formation of dispersion systems in the mode of torsion-oriented turbulization. The phenomena in question occur in a chemical reactor installed on the vibration machine’s mobile platform loaded with components of the processed dispersion system. When the external vibrational indignant forces reach certain critical parameters, the subject phenomena occur as the result of simultaneous and joint actions of mechanical resonance and fluid shock impact. Through the explosion-like action, the mixture components fill the reactor’s internal chamber and convert into dispersion systems.

Book Synopsis Radiative Transfer in Nontransparent, Dispersed Media by : Harald Reiss
Download or read book Radiative Transfer in Nontransparent, Dispersed Media written by Harald Reiss and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Existing standard textbooks on radiative transfer (RT) are usually confined to theoretical models with little reference to experimental methods. This book has been written to illustrate how calorimetric and spectroscopic measurements can be used to check theoretical predictions on extinction properties of infrared radiation in optically thick, absorbing and scattering particulate media. A determination of infrared extinction coefficients is now possible from three completely independent methods. An interpretation of the results of thermal conductivity measurements is made in terms of the diffusion model of RT. One of the most important topics of the book is the experimental separation of heat transfer modes. Since all modes other than scattered radiation are coupled by temperature profiles, conservation of energy also requires an understanding of the non-radiative heat flow components. Unlike other volumes on RT, this book also contains a review of non-radiative heat flow mechanisms. Thus the book does not treat RT as an isolated phenomenon but stresses the key role of RT among the other transport processes. A considerable part of the book is devoted to the calculation of extinction cross sections by application of Mie theory, anisotropic and dependent scattering, optimization of radiation extinction by experimental means, existence or non-existence of thermal conductivity, and other general questions within the field of thermophysics.
