Download or read book Mandalas written by Daniela Gonschorek and published by . This book was released on 2018-11-18 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Creative relaxation with Mandala motifs for coloring Let the lines guide you and embark on an exciting journey of discovery. These motifs have been developed especially for people with visual and motor difficulties. Problems, which the author also has. In spite of the large offer she never found the suitable templates for herself and so she developed her own templates. Annotation of the author: "I tend to look at every picture with my nose on the canvas. I'm very fond of detail and like to drive with my finger along lines and structures. The reason why the outlines of my motifs are thicker than usual is that I have motor problems and can hardly drive along a delicate black line with a crayon without painting over it. This annoys me every time and these Mandala motifs forgive me for one or the other unwanted swerve." Softcover, 21.59 cm x 21.59 cm (8.5'' x 8.5''), 36 motifs, each with an unprinted back so that pens cannot push their way through the underlying image. If you like a motive particularly well, you can easily cut it out and hang it up or give it away. When using felt pens, however, I would put a loose sheet of paper between the pages. Just for safety. Mandalas are geometric forms oriented towards a centre and can be found in many cultures. From India and Tibet they spread with Buddhism in East Asia. They activate the subconscious during meditation and have a positive effect on the psyche. The Indians also know this symbolism. A mandala appeals above all to spiritually oriented people, but it also stands for joie de vivre, energy and unity with the universe.

Book Synopsis Ordinary Things and Their Extraordinary Meanings by : Giuseppina Marsico
Download or read book Ordinary Things and Their Extraordinary Meanings written by Giuseppina Marsico and published by IAP. This book was released on 2019-05-01 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides a new look at the everyday relationship between psychological processes and extraordinary aspects of ordinary phenomena. Why should we deal with ordinary things? People’s life is made of everyday practical, taken-for-granted things, such as driving a car, using money, listening music, etc. When you drive from home to workplace, you are migrating between contexts. Is this an empty space you are crossing, or the time you spend into the car is something meaningful? In psychological terms, things have, at least, three levels of existence, a material, a symbolic and an affective one. The underlying idea is that the symbolic elaboration of everyday things is characterized by the transcendence of the particular object-sign, leading to the creation of more and more complex sign fields. These fields expand according to an inclusive logic up to dialogically and dialectically incorporate opposites (i.e. clean/dirty, transparent/opaque, hide/ show, join/divide, slow/fast, etc.). Even the meaning of “ordinary” and “extraordinary” follow such an inclusive logic: if you give a positive value to ordinary, extraordinary is rule-breaking; otherwise, if ordinary means trivial, extraordinary assumes a positive value. Besides, things are cultural artifacts mediating the experience of the world, the psychological processes and the construction of mind. Reflecting upon “things” is thus a more meaningful pathway to understand Psyche.

Book Synopsis L'educazione ambientale come patrimonio per le generazioni future by : Adriano Sofo
Download or read book L'educazione ambientale come patrimonio per le generazioni future written by Adriano Sofo and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-20 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Valete Vos Viatores by : Javier Andreu Pintado
Download or read book Valete Vos Viatores written by Javier Andreu Pintado and published by Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra / Coimbra University Press. This book was released on with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inscriptions were one of the trademarks of Romanization. Used as a real mass media, they covered almost all facets of Roman public and private life. Following common patterns, however, this habit of engraving inscriptions, the so-called “epigraphic habit”, took shape in different manifestations in each region, in each province, configuring diverse and attractive epigraphic cultures. This volume, the result of a Creative Europe project coordinated by the University of Navarra and with the participation of the University of Coimbra, the one at Bordeaux and La Sapienza in Roma and, also, of the Museo Nazionale Romano and different research centers in Portugal, France, Spain and Italy, reviews not only the functions of some of these inscriptions with new approaches to well-known repertoires but also the new tools that -from the rise of the Internet to the use of digital photogrammetry, from digital epigraphy to 3d epigraphy- are being implemented for their study, their understanding and, above all, the social dissemination of their values, builders, in large part, of European identity.

Download or read book Transavanguardia written by Ida Gianelli and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First exhibited in the late 1970s, the Transavanguardia seemed to oppose radical experimental media in a return to expressive practices in painting and sculpture. The Transavanguardia first achieved notice with an exhibition held at the Kunsthalle, Basel, and participated in the 1982 Documenta 7. These five artists--Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi, Nicola De Maria and Mimmo Paladino--were quickly recognized as a distinct movement and have exhibited both individually and as Transavanguardia including at the Guggenheim New York. This catalog of the Fall 2002 exhibition at Castello di Rivoli examines the spontaneous emergence of this group in 80 works with English/Italian essays by Jean-Christophe Ammann, Achille Bonito Oliva, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and John Yau.
Download or read book Sol LeWitt written by Sol LeWitt and published by Corraini Editore. This book was released on 2009 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Books are the best medium for many artists working today," Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) once declared. A pioneer of artist's books, and co-founder of New York's Printed Matter bookstore in 1976, LeWitt is closely identified with the book as an art form. Starting with 1967's Serial Project No. 1 (from Aspen magazine), and closing with Chicago (Morning Star Publications, 2002), this book reproduces covers and spreads from Sol LeWitt's massive oeuvre of artist's books, almost all of which are now rarities. As artist's book historian Clive Phillpot notes, "the principle attribute of LeWitt's books is one common to all books: a dependence upon sequence, whether of families of marks or objects, or of single or permuted series which have clear beginnings and endings." Critical observations from LeWitt himself and a variety of scholars make this volume the most sustained treatment of LeWitt's prolific activity in this area to date.
