Book Synopsis Digitalization in Open Economies by : Michael Vogelsang
Download or read book Digitalization in Open Economies written by Michael Vogelsang and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-03-20 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital strings are not visible, but affect all economic segments. This book studies the phenomenon of digitalization with the instruments of economics in order to explore the interdependencies between digitalization, economic policy, and macroeconomic variables of open economies. Digitalization is separated into the three components networks, IT services, and digital goods which are then incorporated into macroeconomic models of trade theory in open economies. This approach allows to formally describe the cross-effects between digitalization and macroeconomic variables of a country. Specifically, it is used to analyze interdependencies between macroeconomic variables and networks, IT services, and digital goods, and to determine the challenges of digitalization for economic policy and regulation.

Against this background the intensification of innovation dynamics becomes crucial – and with them the role of regional innovation clusters. The analysis examines seven regions and six EU countries. The focus is on cluster and network dynamics in both industries, as regional ICT clusters are playing an increasingly central role in many European regions. Specialization and structural change in the automotive sector are highlighted, and new strategic approaches for multinational companies and changes in policy options are identified.

Book Synopsis Financial Inclusion in China by : Hongmei Zhu
Download or read book Financial Inclusion in China written by Hongmei Zhu and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-23 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims to provide first-hand information for readers who are concerned about inclusive finance and sustainable development by summarizing China’s policy measures and practical innovations in the development of inclusive finance and expects to provide China’s experience for the development of inclusive finance in more regions. From a worldwide perspective, a large number of people had been excluded from formal financial services for a long time due to various factors. Even in developed economies with sound financial systems, relatively disadvantaged groups are often denied access to effective financial services. In 2005, the United Nations proposed the concept of Inclusive Finance, emphasizing the extension of financial services to less developed regions and low-income groups in society at an affordable cost by improving financial infrastructure and providing them with reasonably priced and convenient financial services. In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, making inclusive finance an important focus for achieving sustainable development. It has become a global consensus to vigorously develop inclusive finance. China has attached importance to improving financial services for disadvantaged groups such as rural residents, micro-, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and others. In 2013, Developing “Inclusive Finance” became China’s national strategy. In 2015, China formulated the Plan for Promoting the Development of Inclusive Finance (2016-2020). In 2016, during its presidency of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), China proposed the issue of "Digital Financial Inclusion" and issued the G20 High-level Principles for Digital Financial Inclusion at the G20 Hangzhou Summit in the same year. Through policy guidance and active practice by the financial sector, China has gradually formed a unique development model of inclusive finance and achieved remarkable successes. Physical outlets, service machines and online service channels have been improved, and basic financial services have generally covered both urban and rural areas. The financial services for rural households and MSMEs have improved significantly. The efficiency and convenience of financial services have been significantly improved, and the satisfaction of financial services has significantly increased. China's experience in inclusive finance has been recognized by the international community. In 2017, five cases from China were selected in the G20 report on Digital Financial Inclusion: Emerging Policy Approaches.

Book Synopsis Development of Brushless Self-excited and Self-regulated Synchronous Generating System for Wind and Hydro Generators by : Izzat, Likaa Fahmi Ahmed
Download or read book Development of Brushless Self-excited and Self-regulated Synchronous Generating System for Wind and Hydro Generators written by Izzat, Likaa Fahmi Ahmed and published by kassel university press GmbH. This book was released on 2013-01-01 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this work, a developed model of brushless synchronous generator of wound rotor type is designed, analyzed by FEM, practically applied and investigated. A comparison of results with conventional machines is also performed. The presented machine can be applied for multi-pole wind/ hydro generators or double-poles diesel-engine generators. It is self-excited by residual magnetism and a connected capacitor. It is also self-regulated by making use of fluctuations at load or limited speed changes. The generated voltage may last at extended speed range by arranging a generating system with variable capacitance. By eliminating the permanent magnets or advanced manufacturing technology of rotor poles; and without using extra rotating/ external DC exciters, an efficient excitation field and an output of flat self-compensated compound characteristic are obtained. More, the feature of damper windings is determined. Concerning the fact of environmental diminishing of elements in materials of permanent magnets and D.C. Battery, the presented novel machine is hence a good alternative and more economic from generators, exist in the market. Beside, it is safer and highly recommended for power stability when connected to the grid.
