Digitalisierung – Fluch oder Segen? Die Digitalisierung schreitet in allen Lebensbereichen der heutigen Gesellschaft voran und hat sich inzwischen in den alltäglichen Leben der Menschen fest verwurzelt. Der Begriff Digitalisierung kann verschieden interpretiert werden. Zum einen steht er für die „digitale Umwandlung und Darstellung beziehungsweise Durchführung von Information und Kommunikation oder die digitale Modifikation von Instrumenten, Geräten und Fahrzeugen“. Andererseits kann der Begriff als die „digitale Revolution bzw. die digitale Wende“ verstanden werden. Befürworter schätzen an der Digitalisierung besonders die Chancen, sich zu informieren, zu kommunizieren, sich zu beteiligen und mitzugestalten. Jedoch steigt auch das Risiko in Banalitäten und Fiktionen zu versinken, überwacht und manipuliert zu werden sowie durch die große Menge der Informationen den Überblick zu verlieren. Der Bereich der Medizin hat sich in den letzten Jahren aufgrund der Digitalisierung sehr gewandelt, die Relevanz für die Öffentlichkeit wird durch die Verabschiedung des E-Health Gesetzes des Bundestags im Jahr 2015 bestätigt. Zudem ermöglicht die Technologisierung den Ausbau von neuen digitalen Medien, wie etwa Social-Media Plattformen. Ein weiteres hochspannendes Thema ist die Umsetzung der Digitalisierung in der Bildung.
