Book Synopsis The Dr. Seuss Catalog by : Richard H.F. Lindemann
Download or read book The Dr. Seuss Catalog written by Richard H.F. Lindemann and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2005-02-04 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theodor Seuss Geisel--known worldwide as the beloved children's author Dr. Seuss--produced a body of work that spans more than 70 years. Though most often associated with children's books, he frequently contributed cartoons and humorous essays to popular magazines, produced effective and memorable advertising campaigns ("Quick, Henry, the Flit!"), and won Oscars and Emmys for motion picture productions, animated shorts, and features. As founder and president of Beginner Books, his influence on children's book publishing was revolutionary, especially in the field of elementary readers. Geisel's prolific career--he wrote or contributed illustrations to more than 75 books, most of which have been reprinted repeatedly and translated worldwide--and his predilection for made-up creatures make this joint bibliography and iconography especially useful to readers and researchers. The exhaustive bibliography is arranged chronologically, providing full bibliographic information, including translations as they appear, reissue information, and descriptions of the binding. The iconography links more than 900 fictional names, places and terms to the works in which they appear. For the reader seeking a first edition of Quomodo Invidiosulus Nomine Grinchus Christi Natalem Abrogaverit (How the Grinch Stole Christmas! translated into Latin) or hoping to identify "abrasion-contusions" (race cars in If I Ran the Circus!), this work promises as much discovery as a walk down Mulberry Street.
Download or read book Humorous Tales written by Rudyard Kipling and published by Alma Books. This book was released on 2018-02-28 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1921, this volume collects some of the most comical stories Kipling published throughout his writing career. These tales derive their humour from absurd situations - a drunken Irish soldier worshipped as a god in the Indian holy city of Benares, a monkey let loose in an English village - and from lampooning the attitudes and discourses of the time. While presenting many aspects which will be familiar to Kipling readers - rollicking adventures, exotic locales and an interest in the animal world - these Humorous Tales explore the more light-hearted and amusing side to the great master's work.

Download or read book Rigatoni written by Jeffery F Dow and published by Jeffery F. Dow. This book was released on 2021-02-12 with total page 1529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sarah Bartlett was an Academy Award-nominated film star, an Emmy-nominated television actress and a Tony-nominated stage performer. She was also awarded her very own Varsity Jacket by the former director of the US Department of Music’s Federal Hip Hop Administration. Appearing in over 20 films (including Hearts of Sorrow, Hearts of Celery; Perkwit’s Secret Bramboráky (the fourth installment of the Blurg movies); and Shadow of the Fish), she also starred on stage in such shows as Howling at the Moon: The Dog Musical; Billiard Balls of Death; and Dreadful About Those Shock Treatments, Eh? The woman was also an accomplished musician who performed guitar and baglama not only with her own group (Zooey’s Lampshade) but also with the Hattiesburg Symphony Orchestra and Industrial Pole Bean Outlet; with the Palm Frond and Banana Spider Symphony Orchestra; and with the ’56 Elvis Quintet at the Memphis in November: From Too Cool to Too Cold Music, Art and Law Practice Festival). There were other sides to Sarah, sides that she preferred people not know much about, sides involving Queen Victoria costumes, drinking way too many sodas at one sitting, and that whole ceramic curry serving bowl (from 2400 BCE) incident, which she knew would greatly upset anthropologists all over the world. Here, for the first time, is the entire story of Sarah Bartlett’s life, including her children, her husband, her boyfriend, her shoes, her Toyota Cadberry, and her dreams (some of them involving picture frames made of cheese; some of them involving the Poky Little Puppy; some of them involving Gloria Swanson wearing a miniskirt, a pair of orange flip-flops and a T-shirt with a picture of Andy Warhol and the phrase “Hey, look, I’m a can of soup” on it; some of them involving cats with lobster claws for legs; and some of them involving copious amounts of Ranch Dressing). The book also includes over 150 illustrations, and some of them actually make sense. If you’re looking for a book that offers the best ratio of cost per laugh, look no further. Further? Farther? Wait, let’s think this through. Uhh, farther has an a in it, and measure has an a in it, so farther relates to distance. So, yeah, further is the right adjective to use. The Seattle Drainpipe Gazette says, “Rigatoni is to books as cat hair is to dogs.” The Farmington Inquirer calls Rigatoni “unobtrusive,” “mildly trapezoidal,” and “looks great under some flowerpots.” And the Tucson Rock Trader says, “If we crowdfund, we can raise enough money to get this author the serious help he so obviously needs. This isn’t a cry for help, this is a sustained scream through a set of Peavey Dark Matter DM 118 Powered PA Subwoofer Speakers.”

Download or read book "Me-We" Wins written by Deanne Renard and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2020-04-08 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Me-We" Wins is about women discovering who God created them to be, their inner "Me," and improving their lives reflectively. This process involves pulling back the many layers women have developed to hide/protect their "Me" from the potential pain of being vulnerable in their "We" relationships. She is forced to hide her "Me" and yet function daily as a partner of her "We" relationships in families, friendships, careers, marriages, and interactions with God. Each chapter addresses the various issues that may arise in the relationships and the positive versus negative reactions of her "Me." A workbook is included to help you personally connect and explore the details outlined in each chapter. At the onset of the book, we explore who your "Me" is by identifying talents, gifts, and godly desires, as well as the negative distractions interfering with your "Me," evolving into all she was created to become. The focus is on discovering and enjoying your "Me" and, in turn, getting to know God as your creator. This book is a tool for women desiring to live their best life through the self-discovery of their internal, God-given power enabling them to win as "Me" and as a partner in "We."
