In addressing classroom management, the book divides the management into three main components namely; the covenant management, content management, and conduct management. Therein, each of the mentioned components is described in detail where observable elements associated with effectual teaching practices are presented in a list. In retrospect, the book provides useful tips to the learning process and classroom management, the two being imperative. With specific attention given to aggressive behaviors, my book defines this behavior as unwarranted act of violence against others or oneself, and is committed either verbally or physically. My book points out particular classroom management approaches that can be utilized by teachers to handle aggressive behavior. The approaches include preparedness for lessons, student motivation, initiating discipline effectively, creating conducive learning environment, creating self-esteem among student, and drawing an interactive lesson plan. The book however points out that teachers, depending on the situation may devise other approaches. Also notably clarified on this topic is that, classroom management approaches may differ from one teacher to the other. Finally, my book addresses various ways that can be used to treat aggression. Aggression is described as treatable in three stages and these include immediate, behavioral, and long-term stages.

Enverga University Foundation Candelaria, Inc. within the school year 2014-2015. This study has three important purposes: (1) to identify the behaviors of students in Pilot and Lower-hetero classes, (2) to determine the management strategies of teachers regarding their students’ classroom behavior and (3) to view the differences between the management of high school teachers regarding the behaviors of students in Pilot and Lower-hetero class. Moreover, the researcher aims to improve the managerial skills of teachers with the aid of the findings and able to use to develop an intervention program. The respondents of the study are twenty four (24) faculty members of Secondary Education level in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Candelaria, Inc. and were chosen through the use of purposive sampling method. Criteria were set so that the researcher would come up with the appropriate number of respondents. Respondents were given two sets of questionnaires with the same contents: one for Pilot class and other is for Lower-hetero class. First part was designed to identify the behavior of students and the second was designed for the management of teachers in pilot and lowerhetero classes based on time, instruction, classroom environment, relation and discipline. The researcher sought the permission of the administrator/school principal during the data gathering procedure. The questionnaire was administered, collected, tallied, tabulated and interpreted. The study revealed that the students from pilot class are identified to be class achievers and the lower-hetero class is classroom helpers. Teachers, on the other hand, identified that both students from pilot and lower-hetero classes are exhibiting aggressive behaviors. Teachers also revealed that they ALWAYS manage their time, instruction, classroom environment, relation and discipline. In terms of differences, they revealed that there is SIGNIFANT DIFFERENCES in time and discipline with the t-computed values of 1.82 and 2.7 respectively. However, they found out that there is NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES in terms of instruction and relation with the t-computed values of 0.12 and 0.59 respectively and has NO DIFFERENCE in classroom environment with the t computed value of 0.

Book excerpt: "This study explores the efficacy of utilizing humor in the classroom of students who are Emotionally Handicapped or Severely Emotionally Disturbed. This particular application of humor was with regard to reducing inappropriate classroom behavior (anger and aggression as its expression), and concomitantly increasing appropriate classroom behavior, (decreasing or completely avoidance of these episodes). This study asks a twofold question. First, is humor efficacious in a classroom for the student who is Emotionally Handicapped or Severely Emotionally Disturbed? If so what type of humor is more efficacious? Second, the question of perhaps a combination of humor types is more effective than a particular single type of humor is addressed. The results of this study showed no significant difference between humor and no humor in the classroom of students who are Emotionally Handicapped or Severely Emotionally Disturbed. Conceivably, this lack of significance, was due to an array of different probabilities, e.g. a short baseline, and/or the fact that students and teachers were new to each other. Nevertheless, the results indicate, that although the frequency of behaviors increased, the duration and severity of the episodes of escape and aggressive behaviors, remarkably decreased. Hence, the recommendation for further research in this area"--Leaves iii-iv.

Disruptive students are at risk of being removed from the classroom and being excluded from valuable class time. Remediating and reducing aggression in students with ASD requires intervention strategies to address social, communication, and anger management skills. The study examined the effectiveness of the Aggression Replacement Training (ART) (Glick & Gibbs, 2011) in reducing verbal and physical aggression for nine students with ASD. ART teaches students to use effective communication and anger management techniques to prevent conflicts, maintain self-control, and manage stressful situations in an appropriate manner. ART is a 10-week program, and was implemented with three groups of students with ASD using a multiple baseline across groups study design. The study used visual inspection of data to determine if the ART program decreases levels of aggression in students with ASD. The purpose of the study was to decrease frequency of verbal and physical aggression and increase prosocial skills. Results of the study found ART to be an effective intervention for reducing verbal and physical aggression in elementary students with Autism. All participants also demonstrated acquisition and increased use of social skills.
