Book Synopsis Robust Flight Control by : Jean-Francois Magni
Download or read book Robust Flight Control written by Jean-Francois Magni and published by Springer. This book was released on 1997-03-07 with total page 670 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In October 1994, 22 organisations throughout Europe accepted a challenge to solve a specific robust flight control design problem. The results of that design challenge, presented at the GARTEUR Specialists' Workshop in Toulouse, France in April 1997, are reported here. Two flight control benchmarks are considered, based on the automatic landing phase of a large cargo aircraft and on the control of a military aircraft. Methods applied include: classical control; multi-objective optimisation; eigenstructure assignment; modal multi-model approach; LQ, Lyapunov and H¿-techniques; ¿-synthesis; nonlinear dynamic inversion; robust inverse dynamics estimation; model predictive control and following; and fuzzy control. Involved in the definition of the benchmarks and the evaluation process have been representatives from the European aeronautical industry, bringing a strong link with flight control law design practice.

Download or read book Airworld written by Vitra Design Museum and published by Vitra Design Museum. This book was released on 2004 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within a mere eight decades, since the first regular airline flights in 1919, flying has gone from being an adventurous, exclusive pleasure of a select few to an almost everyday mass phenomenon of transportation. During this time, civilian air travel has not only created its own technical standards; it has also produced its own aesthetic: cabin interiors, airport architecture, airline corporate design, flight attendant uniforms, even on-board plates and cutlery. This Vitra Design Museum exhibition is dedicated to the 'airworld' encountered by passengers during flight from the perspective of the history of design and architecture.

Book Synopsis H∞ Aerospace Control Design by : Richard A. Hyde
Download or read book H∞ Aerospace Control Design written by Richard A. Hyde and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent Developments in H¿ theory have produced a promising new design approach. However, a large gap between theory and practice has emerged, with as yet very few design examples applied to real industrial control problems. The work described in this monograph aims to narrow this gap, and to address implementation issues associated with multivariable H¿ controllers. An H¿ control law has been developed and tested for the DRA (Defence Research Agency) Bedford research Harrier. The first part of this text introduces the basic components of the flight control and engine systems and describes the models for the different sub-systems. The second part deals with implementational problems including the discretization process, handling limitations on actuators and the nonlinearities in the system.
