Book Synopsis Essentials of Electronic Testing for Digital, Memory and Mixed-Signal VLSI Circuits by : M. Bushnell
Download or read book Essentials of Electronic Testing for Digital, Memory and Mixed-Signal VLSI Circuits written by M. Bushnell and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 690 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The modern electronic testing has a forty year history. Test professionals hold some fairly large conferences and numerous workshops, have a journal, and there are over one hundred books on testing. Still, a full course on testing is offered only at a few universities, mostly by professors who have a research interest in this area. Apparently, most professors would not have taken a course on electronic testing when they were students. Other than the computer engineering curriculum being too crowded, the major reason cited for the absence of a course on electronic testing is the lack of a suitable textbook. For VLSI the foundation was provided by semiconductor device techn- ogy, circuit design, and electronic testing. In a computer engineering curriculum, therefore, it is necessary that foundations should be taught before applications. The field of VLSI has expanded to systems-on-a-chip, which include digital, memory, and mixed-signalsubsystems. To our knowledge this is the first textbook to cover all three types of electronic circuits. We have written this textbook for an undergraduate “foundations” course on electronic testing. Obviously, it is too voluminous for a one-semester course and a teacher will have to select from the topics. We did not restrict such freedom because the selection may depend upon the individual expertise and interests. Besides, there is merit in having a larger book that will retain its usefulness for the owner even after the completion of the course. With equal tenacity, we address the needs of three other groups of readers.
Book Synopsis Simulacra and Simulation by : Jean Baudrillard

Book excerpt: Earthen architecture constitutes one of the most diverse forms of cultural heritage and one of the most challenging to preserve. It dates from all periods and is found on all continents but is particularly prevalent in Africa, where it has been a building tradition for centuries. Sites range from ancestral cities in Mali to the palaces of Abomey in Benin, from monuments and mosques in Iran and Buddhist temples on the Silk Road to Spanish missions in California. This volume's sixty-four papers address such themes as earthen architecture in Mali, the conservation of living sites, local knowledge systems and intangible aspects, seismic and other natural forces, the conservation and management of archaeological sites, research advances, and training.

Book Synopsis ANSYS Mechanical APDL for Finite Element Analysis by : Mary Kathryn Thompson
Download or read book ANSYS Mechanical APDL for Finite Element Analysis written by Mary Kathryn Thompson and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2017-07-28 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ANSYS Mechanical APDL for Finite Element Analysis provides a hands-on introduction to engineering analysis using one of the most powerful commercial general purposes finite element programs on the market. Students will find a practical and integrated approach that combines finite element theory with best practices for developing, verifying, validating and interpreting the results of finite element models, while engineering professionals will appreciate the deep insight presented on the program's structure and behavior. Additional topics covered include an introduction to commands, input files, batch processing, and other advanced features in ANSYS. The book is written in a lecture/lab style, and each topic is supported by examples, exercises and suggestions for additional readings in the program documentation. Exercises gradually increase in difficulty and complexity, helping readers quickly gain confidence to independently use the program. This provides a solid foundation on which to build, preparing readers to become power users who can take advantage of everything the program has to offer. - Includes the latest information on ANSYS Mechanical APDL for Finite Element Analysis - Aims to prepare readers to create industry standard models with ANSYS in five days or less - Provides self-study exercises that gradually build in complexity, helping the reader transition from novice to mastery of ANSYS - References the ANSYS documentation throughout, focusing on developing overall competence with the software before tackling any specific application - Prepares the reader to work with commands, input files and other advanced techniques
