Die Untersuchung der Zusammenhänge von transformationaler Führung und individuellem Innovationsverhalten liefern unterschiedliche Ergebnisse. So zeigen einige Studien einen Zusammenhang der beiden Aspekte auf, wiederrum andere können den Zusammenhang nicht bestätigen. Außerdem wird mehrfach darauf hingewiesen, dass der Zusammenhang durch eine Vielzahl von Moderatoren unterstützt wird. Die vorliegende Arbeit geht genau auf diese Punkte ein und soll einen weiteren Forschungsbeitrag leisten. Nach der Überprüfung des generellen Zusammenhangs, werden die spezifischen Facetten der transformationalen Führung und die verschiedenen Facetten des individuellen Innovationsverhaltens und deren Zusammenhänge untersucht. Darüber hinaus wird die Situationswahrnehmung als Mediator der Beziehung und die Arbeitszufriedenheit als moderierender Faktor überprüft. Korrelationen sowie hierarchische Regressionsanalysen zeigen, dass die transformationale Führung, vermittelt über die Wahrnehmung der Situation als veränderungsbedürftig und die Wahrnehmung der Situation als veränderungsfähig, Einfluss auf das individuelle Innovationsverhalten nimmt. Des Weiteren zeigen die Daten Zusammenhänge zwischen der intellektuellen Stimulierung und Ideenimplementierung sowie zwischen der inspirierenden Motivierung und Ideenimplementierung auf.
