Book excerpt: Demons of the Mind but a Light Still Shines By: Dave Goodwin You know it’s very difficult to regain trust after it’s been shattered by someone you totally trusted. I still have great difficulty going into public places; my eyes don’t move fast enough to watch everyone, and I hate anyone being behind me. I suppose that’s what happens when someone who professes to love you and thinks how wonderful you are suddenly, five minutes after telling you that, attacks you from behind, stabs you, and almost kills you. Writing these poems brings me a lot of comfort even though sometimes I’m very upset writing the traumatic ones; it does take away the pain if only for a short while. So if in reading them I bring some comfort to the reader, I’m happy, I’ve done what I intended. So for all those very special people in the world who are trying to face horrible and nasty situations, here is Demons of the Mind but a Light Still Shines.

Book Synopsis A Light in Dark Places by : Daniel Sykes
Download or read book A Light in Dark Places written by Daniel Sykes and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learn to live. They wait and stalk to lie and talk as if you were a child that they had owned, as if they’d known and roamed with you a while. They sell their drugs to hordes of mugs who pay to die with ease, to hordes of thugs who pay for slugs of poisons that they’d please. To gain their weight in customers, they branch about the town to push their drugs upon the mugs who’d pay to hoof them down. They steal and leave the blind to lead; to tragic roads they’d hike upon the bleak and endless paths that shadows crawl in fright. They steal away their confidence and try to stretch, “to rake” the sun that shines out from the minds of those who do not take. To just feel tough as long as hard would be the road that’s grave; for moments view upon the feud, they take the drugs they’d crave to ruin people’s calm and peace, replaced with evil fiends; they stalk the worlds that they’d observed to rule them in their dreams. Upon the role of custom, laws are breached aboard smite—upon the realm of chances and upon the dark of night. In paths that rehabilitate and those who do not care—the sun still shines for those inclined, to live life if they dare. To learn the meaning of our lives, it’s said we’ll surely know—upon the end and when we bend to lessons that we grow. Although it’s such an easy thought to trust, we learn to live as if it’s hard to see the yard and life the sun can give.

Book Synopsis When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward by : Carol Farnstrom
Download or read book When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward written by Carol Farnstrom and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-01-31 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We're all searching for something to last. We live our lives ever reaching for the next bar, meeting that right person, getting the perfect job, doing what we can do to make our lives what we think it should be. If you're a believer in Christ, then you pray and you ask favors, requests whatever you want to call them but they are a way of reaching out to the greater power that we do not possess. You may have been the victim of child abuse, a personal crime, a vendetta, or the perpetrator. You have been asking and praying for an answer or miracle to your need and relief from the burden you carry. What we forget is in order to receive from God, we must receive what he gives. Sometimes it isn't what we asked or prayed for, but it's an answer. This book is titled When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward. It is meant as a message, that in order to receive, you must first think it possible. With the power of life and death being in the tongue, speak it! You must speak into your life what you hope and pray for. Faith is believing in the things that are hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. This is putting your faith into action. You must first think it, speak it, expect it just as Jesus said believe when you pray though your father has already given you what you asked for. The messages and very deep and personal accounts during Carol's life shared in this book are meant to enlighten, encourage, and strengthen your ability to receive God's amazing gifts and miracles through the power of words. God's abilities are not limited by our faith however. We do limit ourselves by our own spoken words of failure, fear, and felt circumstances. So often we are defeated before ever given the opportunity to see God's plan revealed by the words we speak, therefore directing the path of decisions made. This book is to be read with an open heart and praying throughout that God give you discernment and wisdom as you read as well as the ability to keep going, it will be painful at times. I believe with all my heart you will see miracles you have prayed for and know it is God and God only who is able to release them to you. It will be because you are finally able to receive through the knowledge of the power of your spoken words. So, go now in the power of his might and seek him so that you may have ears to hear and eyes to see as he leads you in this endeavor. In any offences at the truths shared in this book apologies first. Led as I am, it is all 100 percent the undeniable truth as seen through my eyes in this journey we call life.

Book Synopsis The Human Mind and Belief 3 - Reloaded by : Eugene G. Breen
Download or read book The Human Mind and Belief 3 - Reloaded written by Eugene G. Breen and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-08-21 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mans search for meaning is a perennial quest. The workings and desires and hopes and frustrations of the mind, tell us many things about it, and why it is the way it is. The awesome capacity of the entire person to become addicted to almost anything, throws a light on our strength and also our weakness. The human face is a shadow cast by the mind, and more often than not, it functions as a one-way mirror rather than a true reflection of what is going on beneath the surface. We become attached to people and things, and we actually love. The exhilaration of true joy crafted onto a robust scaffold of pain and disappointment and suffering and sorrow is counter intuitive yet very real. Joy in the possession of the beloved is as good as it gets down here, but our minds pine for this bliss always. This longing for joy is not a vestigial structure in a once functional lobe of our primordial brains that has become atrophied due to disuse. It is the flicker of light at the end of our tunnel showing us the way to go. The human mind is truly a blueprint of our destiny.
Book Synopsis The Oneness of the Eastern Heart and the Western Mind by : Sri Chinmoy
Download or read book The Oneness of the Eastern Heart and the Western Mind written by Sri Chinmoy and published by Aum Publications. This book was released on 2014-03-22 with total page 1706 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This historic collection of all of Sri Chinmoy’s university lectures in eBook form has been released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sri Chinmoy’s arrival in the West on 13 April 1964. Sri Chinmoy’s very first university lecture was given at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, on 10 January 1968. It was entitled “Spirituality: What It Is and What It Is Not.” This inaugurated a whole era of talks which saw Sri Chinmoy travelling ceaselessly across the length and breadth of America and around the world to address the youth of each country. He would spend countless hours travelling by car or train to reach far- flung universities, sometimes visiting two or even three in the course of a single day. After many of these sublimely inspiring discourses, he would answer questions from the audience or spend time instructing sincere seekers in the age-old practices of concentration, meditation and contemplation. By the mid-seventies, Sri Chinmoy had spoken volumes and he began to include longer and longer periods of silent meditation in his lectures. Then, in 1984, in a significant departure from the spoken word, he introduced the theme of Peace Concerts. At these concerts, Sri Chinmoy would play his own soulful and devotional compositions on a variety of instruments of both Eastern and Western origin, meditating between each instrument and sometimes giving aphorisms on peace and related themes. In 2003 yet another form of Sri Chinmoy’s self-offering unfolded when he travelled to a number of universities to honour distinguished professors for their significant contributions to the betterment of humanity by physically lifting them overhead. This remarkable endeavour was part of his “Lifting Up the World With a Oneness-Heart” award programme. Thus, through words, silence, music and a combination of physical and spiritual upliftment, Sri Chinmoy has shared his profound spiritual message with the aspiring Truth- seekers and God-lovers of the university-world for four decades. Sri Chinmoy’s words are mantras for the modern age, reverberating in our hearts with their timeless and truly life-transforming wisdom. In his exquisite prose, which is suffused with the very breath and cadence of poetry, Sri Chinmoy has revealed all the many stages of the seeker’s journey towards the Golden Shores of the ever-transcending Beyond. For generations to come these three volumes will awaken the inner mounting cry of seekers everywhere to achieve the highest Goal of Yoga—union with God—in this life.

Excerpted from Invitation to Love. 108 Reminders for the Enlightened Ones "The greatest blessing in my life was the gift of being in the physical presence of Babaji in Herrekhan in 1980. One day he said that he would be leaving his body, I asked him if he would still come to me if I asked. He simply looked at me and smiled knowingly and said: "Of course!" Recently, my work healing moved to a new level. Some of the recent miracles have been so powerful as to leave me shaky. I could only turn to God to keep myself stable and humble; and so I asked for his advice. Well, he has answered my request. And I imagine he will answer the prayers of many others, through the writings of Ivonne Delaflor. In them I recognize his voice, his humor, his teaching. Thank you Babaji! And thank you Ivonne for being such an open channel!" Dan Brulé Guchu Ram Singh www.breathmastery.com
Book Synopsis The Paraphrase of Shem (NH VII,1) by : Michel Roberge
Download or read book The Paraphrase of Shem (NH VII,1) written by Michel Roberge and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2010-06-14 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the first comprehensive interpretation of the Paraphrase of Shem, Codex VII,1 in the Coptic Nag Hammadi Library. The lenghty introduction discusses the literary genre of the treatise, its plan and system, its situation among the Gnostic systems, its provenance and date. The translation sets out the text in paragraphs, with headings and subheadings. A short commentary follows the translation. The analysis of the system shows that the author is working from a model of the universe, whose principles have been drawn from Stoicism and Middle Platonism. While dipping into the springs of the major Sethian and Valentinian systems, the author follows his own way and offers an original system, anticipating in many respects Manichaeism.

Book excerpt: Kate Skylar is an ordinary seventeen-year-old with an extraordinary destiny. A virgin, Kate suddenly finds herself pregnant with what she believes is the Son of God. But the Catholic Church is convinced Kate is carrying the Antichrist and, assisted by an artificial intelligence known as Grand Inquisitor, will stop at nothing to kill Ethan, her son. Ethan’s only protection is Conversatio, a secret organization dedicated to the Second Coming—which may have its own dark agenda. As Ethan grows up in anonymity, ignorant of his true identity and not knowing whom to trust, he must come to terms with his miraculous abilities and make a fateful choice that will determine the future of all mankind. And for Kate, an equally difficult struggle looms, as well as a mother’s devastating choice. Godsent is a wild religious thriller, a page-turner that keeps you guessing until the very last page. Burton, in his fiction debut, crafts a tightly-wound narrative with a heart-pounding plot and emotional resonance that will ring true to anyone with children of their own, all while the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.
