Book excerpt: On July 21, 2020, Thomas Yeoman leaves a cushy office job as a forest service worker and decides to take on the challenge of becoming a demon hunter. Using a special ring, he travels into a small town outside of Las Vegas Nevada, bringing all the tools that his great grandfather used decades before him. When he arrives he befriends an elderly man by the name of Carl Holkin. He is a hunter that has used a special book to seek out and destroy demons as his ancestors did before his time. In the Following months Carl and Thomas work side by side and destroy demons that were created by ancient medicine men of the tribes of Arizona. The book itself has a long list of demons yet to be destroyed and put out of harm?'s way.The first real challenge comes when Thomas and Carl find that Gary Ridgeway has broken out of the prison in Walla Walla Washington. He finds the means to travel to Cerbat and is given an offer that he can t refuse. The Green River Killer decides to let a very powerful demon use his body as a vessel to cause a reign of terror on the citizens of Cerbat, Arizona. The demon itself could best be described as a creature with two big wings that were black and also had an orange colour similar to that of a Phoenix. It had two big fangs and appeared to be very powerful. Anyone that came into its path would surely die. It mentioned in the book of demons as Firewalker. Knowing that they need help, Carl calls upon an old flame that he knew years ago that was a practicing white witch. Thomas Yeoman and Carl Holkin decide to let Olivia Harrington join as a member of their newly formed team. Years ago, Firewalker had slaughtered her husband and child, which made the dealings with this demon personal. Does Thomas and his team-mates come out to the victor in the battle against the most prolific and brutal killer of the 21th Century? You will have to read this work and find out.One day a helicopter flies into a secret lab inside of the mountain of Cerbat. It carries a wounded soldier that was near death. Two scientists by the name of Hans Lokner and Kamran Dolchanez repairs the soldier?'s body with cybernetic technology which has been funded by the Department of Defence. The government wanted them to create an ultimate soldier that was stronger and faster than any of the enemies of the United States. They do the unthinkable and create a man that is able to run hundreds of miles an hour and able to shoot a laser out of his eye. Just when the cyborg is ready to be turned back over the government, Hans uses the cyborg to brutally murder Kamran Dolchanez and use the cyborg for other reasons.Hans, a practitioner of black magic is able to create a way to place the souls of brutal serial killers inside of his newly created cyborg?'s body. The cyborg consumes the souls of John Wayne Gasey, Lizzie Borden and Jeff Dahmer. Hans knew that he needed more souls for his cyborg. Hans and the cyborg travel to Corcoran State Prison in California. The powerful cyborg snaps the neck of an eighty six year old inmate by the name of Charlie Manson and readily consumes his soul. Hans has done the unthinkable; he decides that he wants to create a homemade demi god. With the power to travel in time, Hans and the cyborg decide to travel to different parts of history and consume souls, which makes his cyborg more powerful each time he consumes a soul.Thomas finds another teammate by the name of Drina Calvert. With Carl, Drina and Olivia by his side, they fight to save humanity and put a kink in the plans for Hans to create his demigod. Is Hans Lokner successful or does Thomas and his newly formed team come out as the victors in this fight? You will have to find out by reading this masterfully written work.
Book Synopsis Magical Transformations on the Early Modern English Stage by : Lisa Hopkins
Download or read book Magical Transformations on the Early Modern English Stage written by Lisa Hopkins and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-13 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Magical Transformations on the Early Modern Stage furthers the debate about the cultural work performed by representations of magic on the early modern English stage. It considers the ways in which performances of magic reflect and feed into a sense of national identity, both in the form of magic contests and in its recurrent linkage to national defence; the extent to which magic can trope other concerns, and what these might be; and how magic is staged and what the representational strategies and techniques might mean. The essays range widely over both canonical plays-Macbeth, The Tempest, The Winter’s Tale, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Doctor Faustus, Bartholomew Fair-and notably less canonical ones such as The Birth of Merlin, Fedele and Fortunio, The Merry Devil of Edmonton, The Devil is an Ass, The Late Lancashire Witches and The Witch of Edmonton, putting the two groups into dialogue with each other and also exploring ways in which they can be profitably related to contemporary cases or accusations of witchcraft. Attending to the representational strategies and self-conscious intertextuality of the plays as well as to their treatment of their subject matter, the essays reveal the plays they discuss as actively intervening in contemporary debates about witchcraft and magic in ways which themselves effect transformation rather than simply discussing it. At the heart of all the essays lies an interest in the transformative power of magic, but collectively they show that the idea of transformation applies not only to the objects or even to the subjects of magic, but that the plays themselves can be seen as working to bring about change in the ways that they challenge contemporary assumptions and stereotypes.

Book Synopsis Ten Years Inside Shelton Prison by : Robert L. Segress
Download or read book Ten Years Inside Shelton Prison written by Robert L. Segress and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-08-31 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten Years inside Shelton Prison is a moving picture that captures what happens inside a prison. Shocking evil and joyful healings live together side by side where the Gospel goes successfully. A guard being stabbed to death with a ballpoint pen during a chapel service stands next to tears of joy running down the face of a Russian mafia member when he was born again. Robert walked into Shelton prison for the first time. As he walked past fences that were covered with razor wire blindingly reflecting the harsh sun, he was afraid. Iron gates slammed behind him. Guards were unaware of his trembling hands. Men in orange suits began to watch him. There was no place to run. This was the beginning of ten years in Shelton prison, where the author served the Lord. There were great blessings: fearful faces accepted the Lord Jesus and became new creatures in Christ. There were dangerous moments: an inmate cut Robert, forcing him to go through AIDS testing. Yet he also had a prisoners scarred head laid on his shoulder, who after accepting Jesus smiled at him and said, I needed that. The controlling purpose of Ten Years is to present the four biblical steps to freedom from incarceration, whether inside a prison or addicted outside of a prison. The four parts of this graphic book are: imprisoned, instruction, health, and freedom. The book concludes with two appendices on important subjects: Learning How to Resist the Devil and a famous therapy for treating addictions, Family of Origin Therapy. After the appendices, thirty-three itemized summaries or compendia are given with the reference pages included. Also, there are referenced sites for ten of Roberts poems that are included in this prison journey log.

Book Synopsis The Great Open Dance by : Jon Paul Sydnor
Download or read book The Great Open Dance written by Jon Paul Sydnor and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-04-24 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Great Open Dance offers a progressive Christian theology that endorses contemporary ideals: environmental protection, economic justice, racial reconciliation, interreligious peace, gender equality, and LGBTQ+ celebration. Just as importantly, this book provides a theology of progress—an interpretation of Christian faith as ever-changing and ever-advancing into God’s imagination. Faith demands change because Jesus of Nazareth started a movement, not a tradition. He preached about a new world, the Kingdom of God, and invited his followers to work toward the divine vision of universal flourishing. This vision includes all and excludes none. Since we have not yet achieved the world that Jesus describes, we must continue to progress. The energizing impulse of this progress is the Trinity: Abba, Jesus, and Sophia, three persons united by love into one perfect community. God is fundamentally relational, and humankind, made in the image of God, is relational as a result. We are inextricably entwined with one another, sharing a common purpose and a common destiny. In this vision, we find abundant life by practicing agape, the universal, unconditional love that Abba extends, Jesus reveals, and Sophia inspires.

Download or read book Journey To Hell written by A.W. Trenholm and published by Whitestone Media. This book was released on 2021-01-06 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over forty years as a missionary traveling through four continents has brought A. W. Trenholm in contact with many divergent doctrines and, often, misrepresentations of the existence, nature, and purpose of hell. Hell is usually represented as a place of eternal suffering, but in his own journey there, unlike in Dante's trip to the Inferno, Trenholm was directed by what the Bible actually says about it, all the while escorted by a very lovely and knowledgeable guide. He discovered a hell vastly different from the one he had been led to expect and came to realize that many of his notions about the devil and the eternal fate of souls were not as fixed as he had thought. He found that, surprisingly, demons are not confined to a burning lake of fire. In fact no one was--at least not yet.
