Book Synopsis Bioisosteres in Medicinal Chemistry by : Nathan Brown
Download or read book Bioisosteres in Medicinal Chemistry written by Nathan Brown and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-06-18 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written with the practicing medicinal chemist in mind, this is the first modern handbook to systematically address the topic of bioisosterism. As such, it provides a ready reference on the principles and methods of bioisosteric replacement as a key tool in preclinical drug development. The first part provides an overview of bioisosterism, classical bioisosteres and typical molecular interactions that need to be considered, while the second part describes a number of molecular databases as sources of bioisosteric identification and rationalization. The third part covers the four key methodologies for bioisostere identification and replacement: physicochemical properties, topology, shape, and overlays of protein-ligand crystal structures. In the final part, several real-world examples of bioisosterism in drug discovery projects are discussed. With its detailed descriptions of databases, methods and real-life case studies, this is tailor-made for busy industrial researchers with little time for reading, while remaining easily accessible to novice drug developers due to its systematic structure and introductory section.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A step-by-step guide to creating and deploying production-quality microservices-based applications Key FeaturesBuild cloud-native production-ready microservices with this comprehensively updated guideUnderstand the challenges of building large-scale microservice architecturesLearn how to get the best out of Spring Cloud, Kubernetes, and Istio in combinationBook Description With this book, you'll learn how to efficiently build and deploy microservices. This new edition has been updated for the most recent versions of Spring, Java, Kubernetes, and Istio, demonstrating faster and simpler handling of Spring Boot, local Kubernetes clusters, and Istio installation. The expanded scope includes native compilation of Spring-based microservices, support for Mac and Windows with WSL2, and an introduction to Helm 3 for packaging and deployment. A revamped security chapter now follows the OAuth 2.1 specification and makes use of the newly launched Spring Authorization Server from the Spring team. Starting with a set of simple cooperating microservices, you'll add persistence and resilience, make your microservices reactive, and document their APIs using OpenAPI. You’ll understand how fundamental design patterns are applied to add important functionality, such as service discovery with Netflix Eureka and edge servers with Spring Cloud Gateway. You’ll learn how to deploy your microservices using Kubernetes and adopt Istio. You'll explore centralized log management using the Elasticsearch, Fluentd, and Kibana (EFK) stack and monitor microservices using Prometheus and Grafana. By the end of this book, you'll be confident in building microservices that are scalable and robust using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. The present document was prepared by the Group of Experts in accordance with those decisions"--Summary.
Book Synopsis Hypoxia and the Circulation by : Robert Roach
Download or read book Hypoxia and the Circulation written by Robert Roach and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-12-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just one of a series of volumes on differing aspects of hypoxia, this authoritative text focuses on cutting-edge research at the interface of hypoxia and biomedicine. Hypoxia – or lack of oxygen – is a constant threat to the human body and its vital organs, one that can take its toll in a number of situations. There are many situations in which the threat is heightened in health and disease, but mechanisms have evolved to lessen its detrimental effects. The International Hypoxia Symposia was founded to enable scientists, clinicians, physiologists, immunologists, mountaineers and other interested individuals to share their experiences of the situations associated with the lack of oxygen and the adaptations that allow us to survive.
