Die Wirtschaftsethik ist ein Begriff, der sich aus der Wirtschaft und der Ethik zusammensetzt. Es bringt Unternehmen und das richtige und gute Handeln zusammen. Was moralisch richtig ist, wird von der Gesellschaft entschieden, denn jeder hat verschiedene Ansichten unter moralisch richtigem Handeln. In der Wirtschaft ist dies noch schwieriger zu sagen, da verschiedene Außenfaktoren einen beeinflussen und vorgeben, wie man in einem Unternehmen oder wie ein Unternehmen zu handeln hat. Außenfaktoren wie der Staat stellen Gesetze auf, an die man sich zu halten hat, Arbeitnehmern wird das Leitbild von den Führungskräften weitergegeben und diese wiederum bekommen es von dem Unternehmen vermittelt. So entsteht ein Modell von den verschiedenen Schichten in der Wirtschaft, das sogenannte Drei Ebenen Modell der Wirtschaftsethik. Es ist ein Modell, das Wirtschaft und moralisch richtiges Handeln vereint, so dass faire Produkte auf dem Markt entstehen und verkauft werden können. Die Konsumenten regeln durch ihren Konsum die Nachfrage der Produkte und müssen darüber entscheiden, ob es zu ihren Bedürfnissen gehört oder doch nur ein Konsumzwang ist. Das Drei Ebenen Modell der Wirtschaftsethik umfasst die Mikro-, Makro- und Mesoebene.

The essays address the range of questions involved in this issue pertaining especially to the fields of medical ethics, public policymaking, and social philosophy. The discussions consider the decisions facing medical and public policymakers, how those decisions will affect the elderly and terminally ill, and the medical and legal ramifications for patients in a permanently vegetative state, as well as issues of parent/infant rights. The book is divided into two sections. The first, "Euthanasia and the Termination of Life-Prolonging Treatment" includes an examination of the 1976 Karen Quinlan Supreme Court decision and selections from the 1990 Supreme Court decision in the case of Nancy Cruzan.
