Book Synopsis Dancing With The One You Love by : Cindy Easley
Download or read book Dancing With The One You Love written by Cindy Easley and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2010-08-01 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let’s get practical – how do real women live out God’s plan in 21st-century marriages? Too often submission is represented as repressive servanthood, rather than a voluntary desire to empower a husband’s leadership. And as with many things in our culture, this view of submission has found its way into our churches and marriages. In reality, women desperately want to experience the graceful waltz where both the husband and wife are in harmony - each 'dancing' their God-given role. But all too often, there are no realistic, Godly models from which to draw. Author and speaker Cindy Easley surveyed ordinary women and asked, “How does this work for you?” Specifically, how do women live out submission in her particular situation? These are their stories, from caring for a chronically ill husband to living with a nonbeliever. Each example will help married or engaged women gain appreciation for God’s will for marriage and learn to dance with the one they love.

Book Synopsis Dancing with the Devil by : Michael Rubin
Download or read book Dancing with the Devil written by Michael Rubin and published by Encounter Books. This book was released on 2015-03-10 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world has seldom been as dangerous as it is now. Rogue regimes—governments and groups that eschew diplomatic normality, sponsor terrorism, and proliferate nuclear weapons—threaten the United States around the globe. Because sanctions and military action are so costly, the American strategy of first resort is dialogue, on the theory that “it never hurts to talk to enemies.” Seldom is conventional wisdom so wrong. Engagement with rogue regimes is not cost-free, as Michael Rubin demonstrates by tracing the history of American diplomacy with North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, the Taliban’s Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Further challenges to traditional diplomacy have come from terrorist groups, such as the PLO in the 1970s and 1980s, or Hamas and Hezbollah in the last two decades. The argument in favor of negotiation with terrorists is suffused with moral equivalence, the idea that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. Rarely does the actual record of talking to terrorists come under serious examination. While soldiers spend weeks developing lessons learned after every exercise, diplomats generally do not reflect on why their strategy toward rogues has failed, or consider whether their basic assumptions have been faulty. Rubin’s analysis finds that rogue regimes all have one thing in common: they pretend to be aggrieved in order to put Western diplomats on the defensive. Whether in Pyongyang, Tehran, or Islamabad, rogue leaders understand that the West rewards bluster with incentives and that the U.S. State Department too often values process more than results.
Book Synopsis Dancing with Butterflies by : Reyna Grande
Download or read book Dancing with Butterflies written by Reyna Grande and published by Washington Square Press. This book was released on 2009-10-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Dancing with Butterflies, Reyna Grande renders the Mexican immigrant experience in “lyrical and sensual” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) prose through the poignant stories of four women brought together through folklorico dance. Dancing with Butterflies uses the alternating voices of four very different women whose lives interconnect through a common passion for their Mexican heritage and a dance company called Alegría. Yesenia, who founded Alegría with her husband, Eduardo, sabotages her own efforts to remain a vital, vibrant woman when she travels back and forth across the Mexican border for cheap plastic surgery. Elena, grief-stricken by the death of her only child and the end of her marriage, finds herself falling dangerously in love with one of her underage students. Elena's sister, Adriana, wears the wounds of abandonment by a dysfunctional family and becomes unable to discern love from abuse. Soledad, the sweet-tempered illegal immigrant who designs costumes for Alegría, finds herself stuck back in Mexico, where she returns to see her dying grandmother. Reyna Grande has brought these fictional characters so convincingly to life that readers will imagine they know them.

Download or read book Dancing with Jesus written by Sam Stall and published by Running Press Adult. This book was released on 2012-10-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you cursed with two left feet? Are your dance moves unrighteous? Do you refrain from getting down lest others judge you cruelly? Fear not. Salvation is at hand. Singing hymns of praise is standard practice-now it's time to set your feet a-tapping with a collection of original dance moves inspired by Jesus and the likes of Moses and John the Baptist. Dances include: the Water Walk, the Temptation Tango, the Judas Hustle, and The Apostolic Conga. Each dance move is outlined with: how to, inspiration, and an illustration. Slyly irreverent but ultimately festive, Dancing with Jesus is illustrated in full color. Best of all, two of the dances are animated for full effect by a lenticular cover and last-spread finale, making this a truly one-of-a-kind novelty item! As the Bible says in Ecclesiastes, there is, "A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to dance."
