This book was released on 2023-11-01 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The combination of DEA and ratio analysis is introduced as a suitable field for evaluating the performance of DMUs. In this regard, DEA-R is also proposed as a hybrid technique for calculating efficiency, ranking DMUs, and finding efficient faces. Therefore, the relationship between DEA and DEA-R provides a suitable field for researchers in the field of evaluating the performance of DMUs. The audience of this book is not limited to researchers in mathematics fields, but experts and students in industrial engineering and management fields also benefit from the topics of this book.

Book Synopsis Is the Ratio of Investment between Research and Development to Production in Major Defense Acquisition Programs Experiencing Fundamental Change? by : Rhys McCormick
Download or read book Is the Ratio of Investment between Research and Development to Production in Major Defense Acquisition Programs Experiencing Fundamental Change? written by Rhys McCormick and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-06-17 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the advent of the information age, both commercial industry and the Department of Defense are moving towards complex R&D-intensive systems over the simpler, mass-produced systems of the industrial age. This CSIS report analyzes the historical trends in the relationship of production costs to development costs in complex acquisition programs. To understand this phenomenon, the study team examines it at two different levels. The first is the macro investment level where portfolio management trade-offs are made between aggregate development and procurement and between programs. The second level is individual programs where the ambitions of the program and the underlying technology shape the resources required for a program to complete development.
Download or read book Digit Ratio written by John T. Manning and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2002 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Manning (biological sciences, University of Liverpool) argues that the relative lengths of the second and fourth fingers are genetically linked to hormone- and sex-related traits, and by extension with sperm counts, family size, musical genius, sporting prowess, autism, depression, homosexuality, heart problems, and breast cancer. He suggests that the study of the ratio between the lengths of the second and fourth finger can broaden our understanding of human ability, behavior, and health. Three photographs, 38 figures, and eight tables are included. Annotation copyrighted by Book News Inc., Portland, OR.

Book Synopsis The Steiner Ratio by : Dietmar Cieslik
Download or read book The Steiner Ratio written by Dietmar Cieslik and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Steiner's Problem concerns finding a shortest interconnecting network for a finite set of points in a metric space. A solution must be a tree, which is called a Steiner Minimal Tree (SMT), and may contain vertices different from the points which are to be connected. Steiner's Problem is one of the most famous combinatorial-geometrical problems, but unfortunately it is very difficult in terms of combinatorial structure as well as computational complexity. However, if only a Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) without additional vertices in the interconnecting network is sought, then it is simple to solve. So it is of interest to know what the error is if an MST is constructed instead of an SMT. The worst case for this ratio running over all finite sets is called the Steiner ratio of the space. The book concentrates on investigating the Steiner ratio. The goal is to determine, or at least estimate, the Steiner ratio for many different metric spaces. The author shows that the description of the Steiner ratio contains many questions from geometry, optimization, and graph theory. Audience: Researchers in network design, applied optimization, and design of algorithms.
