Book Synopsis Dynamic Stability of Vehicles Traversing Ascending Or Descending Paths Through the Atmosphere by : Murray Tobak
Download or read book Dynamic Stability of Vehicles Traversing Ascending Or Descending Paths Through the Atmosphere written by Murray Tobak and published by . This book was released on 1958 with total page 664 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analysis is given of the oscillatory motions of vehicles which traverse ascending and descending paths through the atmosphere at high speed. The specific case of a skip path is examined in detail, and this leads to a form of solution for the oscillatory motion which should recur over any trajectory. The distinguishing feature of this form is the appearance of the Bessel rather than the trigonometric function as the characteristic mode of oscillation.
Book Synopsis Analysis of the Effects of Design Pressure Ratio Per Stage and Off-design Efficiency on the Operating Range of Multistage Axial-flow Compressors by : Melvyn Savage

This book was released on 1950 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multistage compressors composed of high-pressure-ratio stages have higher over-all off-design efficiencies and a wider operating range than those made up of low-pressure-ratio stages if the blade-row efficiency curves for the two cases are assumed to be somewhat similar.
Book Synopsis Pressure-distribution Measurements on the Rotating Blades of a Single-stage Axial-flow Compressor by : Jack F. Runckel

Book Synopsis Charts of Pressure Rise Obtainable with Airfoil-type Axial-flow Cooling Fans by : A. Kahane
Download or read book Charts of Pressure Rise Obtainable with Airfoil-type Axial-flow Cooling Fans written by A. Kahane and published by . This book was released on 1947 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charts are presented to show the pressure rise that is obtainable in an engine-cooling installation with a typical airfoil-type propeller-speed fan. The charts cover fans of the stator-rotor, rotor-stator, and rotor alone configurations, with blades incorporating both the highly cambered 65-series blower-blade sections and the conventional low-cambered airfoil sections. The effects of operation of a geared fan with rotational speeds limited by compressibility considerations and the effects of initial rotational inflow are indicated. Use of the charts to predict the pressure rise obtainable with any fan of the types considered is illustrated in a sample calculation.
