Download or read book Psychology in Brazil written by Silvia Helena Koller and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-16 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an overview of the work of the most important Psychology researchers in Brazil, contributing to the internationalization of the discipline and fostering cross-cultural approaches in the field. Over the last two decades, Psychology research has experienced an enormous growth in Brazil, which has placed the country among the ten nations with the highest scientific output in the area. A big part of this output, however, remains inaccessible to the majority of the international community because it’s mainly published in Portuguese. This book intends to overcome this barrier, presenting a highly relevant sample of the best Psychology research produced in Brazil to those who are unable to read in Portuguese. In each chapter, a top Brazilian researcher is invited to present a summary of his/her main contributions to the field. The result is a rich overview of the main areas in which Brazilian psychologists have concentrated their work over the last decades, such as Developmental Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and School Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Health Psychology, History of Psychology and Social Psychology. By putting together such a wide array of topics, Psychology in Brazil – Scientists Making a Difference offers a rich overview of the research in the country to psychologists, educators and social scientists in general interested in cross-cultural approaches within the Behavioral Sciences.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By exploring various ways to assimilate recent progressive developments and to renew its vital links with its radical roots, Re-Visioning Person-Centred Therapy: Theory and Practice of a Radical Paradigm takes a fresh look at this revolutionary therapeutic approach. Bringing together leading figures in PCT and new writers from around the world, the essays in this book create fertile links with phenomenology, meditation and spirituality, critical theory, contemporary thought and culture, and philosophy of science. In doing so, they create an outline that renews and re-visions person-centred therapy’s radical paradigm, providing fertile material in both theory and practice. Shot through with clinical studies, vignettes and in-depth discussions on aspects of theory, Re-Visioning Person-Centred Therapy will be stimulating reading for therapists in training and practice, as well as those interested in the development of PCT.
Book Synopsis Etica Aos Contemporaneos by : Ayala Gurgel
Download or read book Etica Aos Contemporaneos written by Ayala Gurgel and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-11 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Os fundamentos da ética contemporânea nas perpectivas de Habermas e Tugendhat written by Andrei Luiz Lodéa and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This work wants to analyze two different strategies of moral justification in contemporary ethics. The two authors here studied are Habermas and Tugendhat. Habermas defends the possibility of moral justification by elaborating a discourse ethics, in which he aims at demonstrating that one can reach moral consensus through linguistic assertions. What gives legitimacy to this consensus is the justification of the moral principle #U#. On the other hand, Tugendhat tries to understand ethics through a semantic analysis of moral judgment. In his book Lectures on ethics he analyzes several moral positions looking for plausible elements. Both these theories keep alive the problem of moral foundation.

Book excerpt: The books in the Florida and the Caribbean Open Books Series demonstrate the University Press of Florida’s long history of publishing Latin American and Caribbean studies titles that connect in and through Florida, highlighting the connections between the Sunshine State and its neighboring islands. Books in this series show how early explorers found and settled Florida and the Caribbean. They tell the tales of early pioneers, both foreign and domestic. They examine topics critical to the area such as travel, migration, economic opportunity, and tourism. They look at the growth of Florida and the Caribbean and the attendant pressures on the environment, culture, urban development, and the movement of peoples, both forced and voluntary. The Florida and the Caribbean Open Books Series gathers the rich data available in these architectural, archaeological, cultural, and historical works, as well as the travelogues and naturalists’ sketches of the area in prior to the twentieth century, making it accessible for scholars and the general public alike. The Florida and the Caribbean Open Books Series is made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, under the Humanities Open Books program.
