Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Methods of Clinical Epidemiology” serves as a text on methods useful to clinical researchers. It provides a clear introduction to the common research methodology specific to clinical research for both students and researchers. This book sets out to fill the gap left by texts that concentrate on public health epidemiology and focuses on what is not covered well in such texts. The four sections cover methods that have not previously been brought together in one text and serves as a second level textbook of clinical epidemiology methodology. This book will be of use to postgraduate students in clinical epidemiology as well as clinical researchers at the start of their careers.

This book was released on 2010-11-02 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to be the premier resource for behavioural health clinicians who are considering adopting technology into their practice. Written by experts and policy makers in the field this book will be recognized as the gold standard. Other books currently in this field are extremely technical and are geared primarily to policy makers, researchers and informaticians. While this book will be a useful adjunct to that audience, it is primarily designed for the over .5 million behavioural health clinicians in the U.S. and the millions others around the world. Adoption of technology is slow in behavioural healthcare, and this book will enhance the adoption and utilization of various technologies in practice. I.T. vendors may also purchase this book for their customers.

Book Synopsis Customer Service for Hospitality and Tourism by : Simon Hudson
Download or read book Customer Service for Hospitality and Tourism written by Simon Hudson and published by Goodfellow Publishers Ltd. This book was released on 2012-11-02 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Customer service is of critical importance for the tourism and hospitality sector now more than ever before as customers are looking to increase value for money and are less forgiving of mediocre service. However, despite its importance, quality customer service is the exception rather than the norm in many parts of the world. Customer Service for Hospitality and Tourism is a unique text and vital to both students and practitioners as it explains not only the theory behind the importance of customer service but also acts as a guidebook for those wishing to put this theory into practice. In essence it is the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’of customer service. It is easy to read, very current, and full of references to all the latest research from both academic and practitioner literature. Chapters cover important topics such as the financial and behavioural consequences of customer service, consumer trends influencing service, developing and maintaining a service culture, managing service encounters, the importance of market research, building and maintaining customer relationships, providing customer service through the servicescape, the impact of technology on customer service, the importance of service recovery, and promoting customer service internally and externally. Key features include: An ‘At Your Service’ Spotlight at the beginning of each chapter focuses on the achievements of successful individuals related to the art of customer service. Each chapter contains a ‘Service Snapshot’ - short, real-life cases to illustrate a particular concept or theoretical principle presented in the chapter. Detailed international ‘Case Studies’, which cover a variety of sectors, organizations and regions designed to foster critical thinking, the cases illustrate actual business scenarios that stress several concepts found in the chapter. They analyze customer service in the U.S., South America, South Africa, Europe, Russia, Australia, China, Canada, Korea and Dubai.
Download or read book Mems Packaging written by Yung-cheng Lee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: MEMS sensors and actuators are enabling components for smartphones, AR/VR, and wearable electronics. MEMS packaging is recognized as one of the most critical activities to design and manufacture reliable MEMS. A unique challenge to MEMS packaging is how to protect moving MEMS devices during manufacturing and operation. With the introduction of wafer level capping and encapsulation processes, this barrier is removed successfully. In addition, MEMS devices should be integrated with their electronic chips with the smallest footprint possible. As a result, 3D packaging is applied to connect the devices vertically for the most effective integration. Such 3D packaging also paves the way for further heterogenous integration of MEMS devices, electronics, and other functional devices. This book consists of chapters written by leaders developing products in a MEMS industrial setting and faculty members conducting research in an academic setting. After an introduction chapter, the practical issues are covered: through-silicon vias (TSVs), vertical interconnects, wafer level packaging, motion sensor-to-CMOS bonding, and use of printed circuit board technology to fabricate MEMS. These chapters are written by leaders developing MEMS products. Then, fundamental issues are discussed, topics including encapsulation of MEMS, heterogenous integration, microfluidics, solder bonding, localized sealing, microsprings, and reliability.

Book Synopsis Intraoperative Imaging and Image-Guided Therapy by : Ferenc A. Jolesz
Download or read book Intraoperative Imaging and Image-Guided Therapy written by Ferenc A. Jolesz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 870 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Image-guided therapy (IGT) uses imaging to improve the localization and targeting of diseased tissue and to monitor and control treatments. During the past decade, image-guided surgeries and image-guided minimally invasive interventions have emerged as advances that can be used in place of traditional invasive approaches. Advanced imaging technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), and positron emission tomography (PET) entered into operating rooms and interventional suites to complement already-available routine imaging devices like X-ray and ultrasound. At the same time, navigational tools, computer-assisted surgery devices, and image-guided robots also became part of the revolution in interventional radiology suites and the operating room. Intraoperative Imaging and Image-Guided Therapy explores the fundamental, technical, and clinical aspects of state-of the-art image-guided therapies. It presents the basic concepts of image guidance, the technologies involved in therapy delivery, and the special requirements for the design and construction of image-guided operating rooms and interventional suites. It also covers future developments such as molecular imaging-guided surgeries and novel innovative therapies like MRI-guided focused ultrasound surgery. IGT is a multidisciplinary and multimodality field in which teams of physicians, physicists, engineers, and computer scientists collaborate in performing these interventions, an approach that is reflected in the organization of the book. Contributing authors include members of the National Center of Image-Guided Therapy program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and international leaders in the field of IGT. The book includes coverage of these topics: - Imaging methods, guidance technologies, and the therapy delivery systems currently used or in development. - Clinical applications for IGT in various specialties such as neurosurgery, ear-nose-and-throat surgery, cardiovascular surgery, endoscopies, and orthopedic procedures. - Review and comparison of the clinical uses for IGT with conventional methods in terms of invasiveness, effectiveness, and outcome. - Requirements for the design and construction of image-guided operating rooms and interventional suites.
