Queremos que esta presión sea la más cerca posible en todo momento a un valor de consigna que puede variar cada minuto. Esta regulación de la presión downstream es perturbada por la presión upstream y el caudal que también pueden variar cada minuto. Se precisará el modelo físico más adelante. Se caracterizará una primera estrategia simple de control. Después se estudiará el controlador híbrido y se hará una comparación entre controladores.

Se realizó el diseño de disposición física o hardware de control en puntos estratégicos, que permitirá vigilar los procesos y llevar registro detallado de los mismos, lo cual aumentará los niveles de seguridad y efectividad en el funcionamiento de elementos del sistema de agua, facilitando las operaciones de planta, toma de decisiones y reducción en tiempos de espera en maniobras y reparaciones.

En cuanto al diseño, se describe la metodología que se ha seguido para implantar los sistemas propuestos en ls supervisión y control de la red de abastecimiento de agua de la ciudad de Granada. En concreto, se ha dedicado un capítulo completo a mostrar cómo usar un entorno abierto y a la vez unificado, que reúne aplicaciones con conectividad a través de normalizaciones internaciolamente reconocidas. En cuanto a la integración, se han desarrollado nuevos elementos necesarios para el control distribuido de procesos de explotación del agua, y que representan una clara innovación frente a los sitemas de control industrial existentes. Con respecto a la optimización, se han propuesto e introducido un conjunto de orientaciones y procedimientos para mejorar la explotación en tiempo real de los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua. Además, se ha mostrado cómo abordar ciertos problemas (predición y distribución automática) utilizando metodologías de computación basadas en redes neuronales y computación evolutiva. Por último, se ha abierto nuevas líneas de investigación y desarrollo en el campo de la optimización aplicada a la industria del agua, utilizando dichos paradigmas de computación con los datos y la operatividad del sistema creado. La metodología propuesta ha sido validada así mismo en otros campos de la industria relacionados o no con el ámbito del agua, y ha sentado las base para el desarrollo y expansión de la compañía Ingeniería y control Remoto S.A.
