Book excerpt: Resumen: El presente proyecto se crea con el propósito de realizar un portal web para las maratones de programación enfocado en un foro matemático que permita optimizar el tiempo empleado en discutir la forma de resolver los problemas, centralizar el contenido y fomentar el aprendizaje colaborativo. A través del documento se expone la base teórica que sustenta la necesidad en el programa de Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira de esta herramienta para las maratones de programación, además de las tecnologías más populares para crear un foro orientado a la escritura matemática, toda la ingeniería de software para el diseño e implementación del foro y los resultados tanto de pruebas de software como el análisis de diferentes encuestas llevadas a cabo en un entorno controlado. Como framework o gestor de contenido para la construcción del foro y todo el sitio web se usó Drupal gracias a sus características modulares y escalables, para la visualización y escritura matemática se usó el motor de JavaScript Mathjax y una vez implementado e implantado se procedió a realizar pruebas y encuestas que arrojaron resultados interesantes en cuanto al comportamiento y características de los estudiantes, concluyendo que si bien la herramienta cumple con su objetivo es necesario que la comunidad se apropie de esta e invierta esfuerzos para su crecimiento y divulgación.
